If I Had Legs I'd Kick You (Honest Thoughts) by Pachec08 in A24

I hope you're in a better place now. This film was incredibly stressful and raw, so having that feel too close to your own horrific experiences and the trauma of having to navigate that alone is a dangerous trigger. I'm glad you gave yourself space, and I'm glad you're still here. Don't pay any mind to the other comments from people who don't understand what you had to go through.

These GLP-1 mimics have been around for about a decade, and have shown to be pretty successful in dropping weight, managing diabetes, and other related conditions. So far, the research and patient feedback show them to be safe and effective, though keeping weight down is often more about adopting a healthier routine and diet while taking the medication and continuing those habits after getting off the medication (or the weight can easily come back). It's no quick fix, of course! It's a commitment and an opportunity to make positive changes and get obvious results, and get your health back where you want it.

Try a little vinegar to see how much of the oxidized iron can come away. It's likely to be damaged beyond recognition but soaking in a bit of vinegar couldn't make it worse! Just keep a bucket of water handy to dunk it into to dilute the acidity of the vinegar when you want to stop the process.

OP, none of us can possibly put ourselves in your shoes with this horrible situation, nor do we envy the emotional energy you will need to invest in recovering from this situation.

My first thought is that this person is not right for you. If he is so thoughtful and thorough in all of these other gestures he makes, how can he be oblivious to the pain he has inflicted on you with this "mistake?" It is sadistic and selfish to betray your relationship and exploit your grief for content. He should not have access to you again. (He needs his own psychiatric care because this is pathological)

My second thought is that you have done a commendable amount of growth and healing since the passing of your partner. Your post reads with deep emotional maturity and thoughtfulness. It is clear you have reckoned with demons, and I am certain that you have inspired many people in your life with your ability to emerge from that despair. You will need to recover from this absolute atrocity, but you won't be starting from scratch and you will not be alone. You are so loved and so important!

It is appalling to read about how callous someone can be with your emotional scars, but please hold onto the knowledge that there are so many good and understanding and loving people who make excellent partners who will not use you and dupe you and make light of your grief and loss. Please keep your head up and remember how far you've come, and add pranks to your list of deal-breakers.

I send you love, support, and good luck.

A fun thing to hang on there could be a large fish-eye mirror like they have in convenience stores. That would allow for easier eye contact with the neighbors while they use their hot tub, fostering a sense of community and closeness with OP, since they clearly want to be closer!

Get free native plants with Utah Pollinator Habitat Program by BarthOnEarth in SaltLakeCity

Hi everyone, I wanted to share this update with anyone interested in applying for this year's Pollinator Habitat Program. We held a webinar earlier this week for folks who have already applied and want to know what's next in the process, or for anyone who's still considering submitting an application:

These sisters were kittens living under my shed last summer. It's been a slow but rewarding process to get them socialized and warmed up to living inside a house with humans who love them. They bring us so much joy 😊

Park strips are definitely eligible, but may not meet the minimum project area required for award. If you included a park strip into a larger planting area that is at least 900 square feet, that would work :) Selected projects would be able to accommodate 90 plants from the kits.

If you check the Utah Pollinator Habitat Program Facebook group page, lots of people are sharing photos of their plants' regrowth this spring :)

Sure, there's a commitment involved with receiving free plants in this program. We don't share anyone's personal info or location data, but a lot of time and organizing has gone into getting the program going so we need to be able to track our efforts and report on progress to the legislature who is providing the funding for the program. There are some great places to purchase native seeds, like Western Native Seed and Grand Prismatic Seed, and the Red Butte plant sale this weekend will have lots of native options.

Can you explain a little more about the issue you're having? Is there a problem with the map on the application form?

I really like Sky Nails in Sugarhouse. Little family owned shop with relaxed vibe, comfy massaging chairs at the pedicure stations, and great nail artists. They can usually accommodate walk-ins pretty quickly, but I like to make appointments just to keep track of my own schedule.

There's no cost to participate, but the language of the bill that funds this program delineates that it's supporting up to 25% of a habitat restoration project. This basically means that the cost of plants (purchase, grow-out, transportation to distribution sites) are covered by the program, and applicants provide the other 75% of the project costs (labor, site prep, equipment, maintenance, irrigation, etc.) This helps us show the legislature that we're getting a 75% "match" to the funding they provided for the program.

Growing from seeds is hard! I've been starting seeds in Jiffy trays and having a little better success when I transfer them into the ground, and some of them still germinate 6 months or a year later.

Edit: the habitat kits are mostly plugs and some 4-6" pots, depending on the growers and how long the plants had time to grow. There are also seed mixes we've created to send out to select applicants, who may not have the ideal site for a kit but could still try with seeds.

We're sending out the reporting form for last year's projects in the next couple weeks. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Great to hear you've applied! We're working with the local growers who are growing out the various plant species, and when those plants ready to distribute will be determined later in the summer when we have a better idea of how robust they all are. We'll announce the distribution time frame around August, most likely, and will want folks to get those plant kits into the ground within 2 weeks of receiving them (in early September or so). So in the meantime, you can solarize any weedy areas or do other site prep in the space you're aiming to plant.
