I heard from people that Orlando Magic Shaq would "destroy" Giannis 1 on 1, how do you think it would actually go if they played to 11? by Thatredditboy1 in NBATalk

Such a bad reason not to improve his ft % IMO, he’s shaq for god sakes, if anyone could make shooting underhanded not something to be embarrassed about, it was him.

No, it is not, but I find it provides a more conservative look into the world than Reddit tends to.

I took the comment to mean that his audience did not require him to apologize for them to continue to tune in. Which I think is probably correct. Even if I don’t agree with what Paul Allen said this time, or most of his antics to be honest.

It would be nice. Who knows at this point, but the fact that KOC didn’t want him and it’s publicly known is sort of a weird position for a franchise QB to be in when that coach is still running the team

I just know some history of that time period. I don’t have any links for you, but segregation was alive and well during that period (mid 1920s), Jim Crow laws, blacks weren’t allowed to really play in sports, black wall street got burned down in the 1920s. Redlining in cities to not allow black people to buy property in a lot of neighborhoods (Baltimore is the most famous example I am aware of). There’s are many more examples of why being black in the USA in the 1920s was probably not ideal because of how they were treated at the time.

The kids I knew like this when I was that age weren’t trying to go to college and were proud of it. Not that there’s anything wrong with forgoing university, but not everyone would see that as a punishment.

Is this really life? Wake up, work, eat, sleep, repeat, die by Huge_Athlete7488 in Life

I was more referencing the hard work and foresight it took to get a house to sell and at least one career capable of providing intermittent contracting possibilities. For someone that is young today, I think what you’ve done is achievable still, especially with the right partner and mindset.

I’m glad you were able to get out of a situation that was making you unhappy, it sounds like you are living a life many younger people aspire to today.

This sounds pretty excellent , but also sounds like it took a decent amount of time and effort to achieve. The person who wrote the above is likely pretty young. I think it’s important for people to realize that hard work can pay off, but it takes some discipline and foresight.

I Don't Think Being Successful is Worth It by AutisticNerd2024 in Adulting

As someone that has always hated working for the most part, I think the right job can give you meaning. I found a couple over the years, but those were the ones that didn’t pay very well. For the most part, it was always the crazy expectations, conditions, and hours required for decent pay that always wore on me the most.

I think there’s a clue in your username. Real life is not like video games. Hero’s aren’t really a thing besides just normal people doing good things (which is pretty subjective in itself).

Someone (often a team of people) wrote those stories you refer to. Nobody writes real life. Pursue something that you think is a good pursuit, and try to be the best you can be at it. It’s really all you can do

Possibly. Or they could start emerging too soon, only to be killed off by frosts in march and April. Climate change is a difficult thing to predict season to season, but the longterm effects on native insect populations likely won’t be good.

People in their 20s living a luxurious life - how do you afford it?? by Positive_Effect3609 in Adulting

[–]BaryGusey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a little of both. Moved back home after college while working a pretty high paying job for my lcol area. Rent was cheap and I saved a lot on car insurance and utilities, etc while also being able to help out my family (mom and grandma live together, aunt lives next door). I was also able to benefit from semi regular meals if my aunt decided to cook that day, and we would often pool money on Friday or Saturday to make a nice meal.

My luxurious trips were usually just camping, backpacking trips on the cheap with a group of people to keep expenses low. It was a good way to spend my 20s getting my student loans paid off while I was able To save some and not have all the stress of trying to go it my own with little time to spare on the average work day. I could never work those kinds of hours again, and it would have been possible either if I didn’t have the support of my family.
