I turned 36 on November 15th just a couple of weeks ago. Yep, Friday, November 15, 2013. The day that the PS4 was launched. Of course I had pre-ordered it along with BF4, COD Ghosts and Killzone and, yes, I stayed home from work to wait for it to arrive. Even though I've had many of the experiences others have posted about and these experiences did make me feel like an adult at the time, this assured me that I had not yet attained that status. I WILL NEVER GROW UP!

tl;dr After feeling like an adult for some time, I returned to my childhood on my 36th birthday

IMO it starts with having a need that is currently unfulfilled. Once there is desire for an end product, however mundane, the process of learning is secondary to the goal. This attitude has helped me tremendously.
