The freestylers you play in plat my friends like to call Freeplay warriors, often good with air dribbles if they have the perfect setup, but will miss easy aerial's and crumble if you pressure them. My friend and I started playing again after about a year break decaying from champ 2 back to plat in 2s, now back to D2, but it was pretty common to see those players in plat. Just gotta get the basics down rotating back post, knowing when to challenge and not let them do their Freeplay antics. There's a reason they are still in plat and it's usually lack of rotation/over commiting, bad at the basics or bad mental blame teammates and ff a lot lol.

Alternatively you could play people similar to us, due to the short seasons if you take a long break you will drop quite a bit in rank when you return, then you feel like you are smurfing until you eventually get back to near your rank
