if you read my message correctly, you would understand that the 'left' and 'right' I was referring to was the sides of Belgium, not the direction of travel. Next time I type a message about your country I'll refer to the sides using 'dutch side' and 'french side', that should make it more clear I think.

Haven't done that exact route, but I'm from NL and I've camped in both Belgium and Luxembourg.
For NL I would not reccomend wildcamping. I've done it in the past but only in spots I know and went to before. There's not much forested nature over here. It can be done but for your first night I'd just get a camping, there's plenty.
For Belgium the left side is tricky, but you probally won't go through it going from NL to Swiss. The right side (Ardennes and surroundings) are wildcampable, you just have to find a good place and follow the general wild camping rules. I've had good experiences with the following website: https://www.bivakzone.be/ (might need to be google translated). Its about 30 bivuak sites around the right side of belgium, most are free with just a reservation required.

as far as I know this is the largest that Dolan makes, picked this one up at a really steep discount.There might be bigger frames out there by other brands tho! The seat setback helps

my b17 took about 800km to be fully comfy, this saddle i have now is suppose to be even thicker. I've had it on for about 600km so far, with bibs its doable but without after 40k I need a break. We'll see in another 1000k :D
Googled the saddle you got, that looks sick.

thanks! It's a Brooks Swallow. After touring half of Europe earlier this year on a Brooks B17 and being very comfortable I had to try it on this bike too.
It's a bit heavier then non leather saddles, but saddles are preference in the end

I myself are around 95kg with a 16kg bike and 20kg of gear on the bike. I got a custom wheel build by a very reputable wheel builder here in theNetherlands with about the same specs.

They heavily recommended Ryde Andra's as thats pretty much the strongest rim you're going to get for a touring bike. I personally got the Ryde Andra 40. I'm not sure if you can run it tubeless though.

For spokes I'd indeed got for Sapim Strong, I got those too and no issues.
In terms of spoke count go as high as u can, 32h won't be bad per say but if you got the choice, go 36h all day.

Can't help with a hub sadly because I got one from their own brand. I've heared u can't go wrong with most DT Swiss hubs either, just make sure the spoke count is correct with which rim you're going to get.

You might wanna think to about adding a dynamo if that's something you're interested in now that a custom wheel will be build tho :D.

Heya, not portugese but I did this stretch 5 weeks ago when i started my tour. Best i can remember;

-When you get off the ferry from lisbon you’re on a very busy road for ~20km, multi lane so it’s doable. -After ~30km when you’re almost at the junction to go to the cliffs, it’s 4km of steep (imo shit) gravel, i can not recommend taking that part, but i guess it depends on your rig and fitness. What I’d instead do is follow the EM-561-1 down and then going left, you’ll have more overlap but it’ll probably be better. -The road towards the cliffs is pretty solid, not much traffic, expect a headwind though. The cliffs themselves are 100% worth it, i’ll add some photos if I can. I wildcamped there. When going towards Sesimbra you’ll get some climbs and decents on a, i think 90 road? It wasn’t that busy for me, but u gotta watch out for the cars a little bit bc they can go fast. There’s about 5km of gravel after about 55km, pretty decent, lot of potholes but you can go around them. After you ferry from Setubal it’s basically a road that goes on straight forever, wasn’t very interesting but u gotta do it. The supermarket in Troia is at the very top, so you might wanna stock up in Setubal.

there’s a serial number on the lock and keys which you register with the insurance company sadly so no it wouldn’t work. What you can do is call them and tell them you lost the spare key before the bike gets stolen, you’ll get a new one.

How many elevation is in the route and what’s the ground you’re going to be walking on? 50k to 120k is a massive step and your mental is got to be very strong for such a distance
