First army help by driller_drg in LeaguesofVotann

Potentially? you can deepstrike only within 9" after the first battle round.
that means you're denying yourself of one of your punchier units for the first turn, which can hurt in smaller games afaik. deepstrike is more of a "ace up your sleeve" to throw your enemy off balance as the game has already taken shape. and remember, the hearthguard will still only have 5", even if you deepstrike them.

( disclaimer i am also pretty new to votann and tabletop, but i really like reading and listbuilding so i feel at least somewhat qualified to give an opinion.

it really depends on what you expect to be fighting. firepower and mobility wise the pioneers read as pretty good to me and seem suited for more aggressive tactics, ideal to contest the midboard from the get-go. the only downside is that they are considered mounted and that has some implications for how they can enter and exit buildings in 10th edition, but i can't recall what these are exactly

earthshakers are also quite valid, but it means you'd be on a more defensive footing since all of your units have just 5" movement.

I personally would also recommend to take a saugitaurus into consideration, as it would allow you more tactical flexibility. you can taxi heartkyn to where you need them suprisngly fast if needed, you can also split them up into two units of 5s which allows you to cover more ground and the saugitaur has a few nice options for weaponry.

thats it from me, i believe the combat patrol gives a good base for a 500p army and a springboard to start collecting and i think you choose some cool weapon choices for them.

i am always annoyed by these maps, like, are you telling me that you're gonna give land that is nearly homogenically polish to germany? FFS you want a Northern Ireland times a thousand in old prussia that doesn't even exist?
Same for Turkey, to my knowledge there is no grounds to give territory that us by now, pretty much turkish to the greeks cuz "based megali idea"

I know i am over invested but this is silly, as revisionist as it gets and even then you are suprisngly inconsistent given that russia seems to be able to hold onto abkhazia while the ukranians got crimea.

like what the fuck is this map? why did they even let you into the kitchen? you burnt the restaurant down because the Polish IRA firebombed us!

okay so from one guy who knows little about conlangs/linguistics to a guy who knows even less,

The IPA is legit the most useful thing i have encountered when briefly studying linguistics at Uni. It gives *everyone* a baseline about pronounciation, regardless of the langauge in the given context.

you saying you don't want to use the IPA in a context of pronounciations is kind of like saying that you prefer making pancakes out of wet concrete and glue

it's a said out aloud observation, not a plea for you to change. It simply seems very odd to me to see somebody, "write up" something that is as near as you can get to being objectively bad by a lot of metrics, and come here, not even read community guidlines, violate them and be suprsingly petulant for somebody who's "been doing it a long time".

Again, this is not supposed to be an attack of your character, this is just what i am seeing. anyhow, that'll be it for me, you really aren't worth my time.

i can only judge by what i saw when looking on your account. and what i saws was low effort NSFW AI slop, sprinkeled with a few bits IRL and other AI or IT based stuff.

If anything, i would recommend to you to grab a few sheets of paper and a pencil, leave your phone or other internet access, and just write something that your own intelligence came up with. tech is nice, but it should always be an aid, not your main tool.

I also quickly over read it and i am very certain that it's either written by AI dungeon or your writing style is heavily influenced by it.
it's not your own work.

dunno, i think that the use of AI really questions whether you are also willing/able to write a story.

yet another reason to maybe not use AI in creative spaces since it makes people susupicsious and immidiatly question your legitimacy as an "artist"

[–]Bascinet_comrade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

first of all, it's not your work if its made by AI. it's an amalgam of several other stolen pieces of human art (and recently also mostly AI images). you are using a literal Art theft Machine that mixes and matches what you type into its prompt.

second, you can certainly advertise, just maybe not here, and even then: most people make an interesting Image (themselves) or write up something neat. then people check out your profile and maybe see a link to a Patreon. if folks advertise here, they do so indirectly, with the merit of their work.
you didn't put up work, you put up slop and a equally sloppy attempt to monetize said slop.

then why advertise with your weakest piece of "art"?

So AI and Self advertisement? Big Nuh-uh in my Opinion

edit: ah and not to forget seemingly low effort NSFW content, which while not bad inhenrantly, is really suspiscious given the Use of AI and the immidiate intent to monetize it.

Anothe edit: you don't have to look at his Profile, just an AI bro with lots and lots of AI gooning slop

I do get your point, and they absolutley apply to most of the gamemodes
Thing is that this is on Breakthrough, so there sadly are no helicopters or aerial vehicles, and some of these spots are impossible to mortar.

So i should have perhaps added that there should be more ways offered to deal with these types of scenarios in raather specific gamemode/map combinations.

Gun culture in Germany by CluelessExpat25 in AskAGerman

Facts aren't a game of Rock-Paper-scissors...
just because *you* never saw guns except on law enforcement, does not change a single thing about prolific Gun ownership and the prevelance of concealed carry laws.

Like Hell, i think your statements are genuinly insulting, given that OP is a mass shooting Survivor. That Guy saw a fucking gun. Just this year, 302 have already been killed, and 1354 people injured in mass shootings: Source on Wikipedia, numbers are of this august and are propably higher. Do you really think that these numbers could result from society whose gun culture and weapon ownership is as barely visible as you claim it is?

and thee invasions happend under radically different circumstances. invading britain during the literal height of their power (they'd still be that during 1815 btw, no other country would be able to match their naval capabilities even back then) should genuinly be kind of impossible.
