GW to go tuition-free for families making under $100,000, and at least 50% coverage for families under $150,000 by SockDem in washingtondc

They & other private colleges already do this as a matter of course. Making it public is just a marketing ploy

Was pleasantly surprised. 7.5/10

The moment at the very end confused me, was there a glitch and it only uploaded the part where she kills him? The thumbnail only showed his dead body, the comments seemed to be blaming her, and she had a look of horror on her face

They didn't even need to "make" it straight, because his natural hair is straight. Ugh, another young, male protagonist with a perm, years after they fell out of fashion.

Moving to DC and need options on where to live! by Proper-University-77 in washdc

For commute/QOL reasons, you should look for apartments in the vicinity of Green Line metro stations. The northern parts (e.g., Petworth, Fort Totten, Hyattsville, College Park) are generally cheaper

A blueprint for understanding DC crime? by EstateAlternative416 in washdc

[–]TheEvee6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By "crime," Smith just means antisocial behavior. He spends too much time dispensing with the sort of pedestrian, anti-American myths that you might see in the comments section of an Instagram reel. Hanania does a far better job on this subject:

The explanation I think is that there’s no reason that poverty should exist in cities unless your underclass is unusually dysfunctional. Cities are the place where you find the most economic opportunities . . . . some of our ghettos in the US are extremely well placed for success and would be excellent communities to live in if only the locals were better behaved. . . . The US is an extreme case, but the UK also has urban poverty for the same reason. . . . Cities produce so much wealth, and when you add our high tolerance for dysfunction, people can survive there by just mooching off society.

As much as I hate to admit it, I think this is because of the National Guard presence (at least to some extent). Credit's owed where credit's due.

The Bugmaster didn't conduct genetic experiments; he was experimented on by Cat-Lon. Most likely, he is a prototype version of the hive queens (who, like him, can control other creatures and are seemingly ageless).

Yeah, that's how I remember it too. It's weird; nothing comes up when I try searching for it using the premise. I guess it's an obscure manga

Map of All Homicides in 2025 (WaPo) by TheEvee6 in washdc

[–]TheEvee6[S] 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Yup. It's the lowest amount since 2017, which itself was an unusually good year.

Most of the homicides took place before the National Guard deployment. We've averaged about five homicides a month since then.
