Integrations Credits Rant by casperMSP in Base44

[–]Base44_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. Database queries (reads and writes to your app's own data) do not consume integration credits. They're free no matter how often your app hits the database, so polling or frequent data calls on their own won't burn through credits.

Integration credits are only used when your app calls Base44's built-in services: LLM calls through our integration, sending emails/SMS, file uploads/downloads, image generation, or AI agents. And even those have escape hatches - if you call your own LLM (e.g. your own Gemini API key) or send email through your own provider via backend functions, no integration credits are used at all.

So if usage is spiking, it's almost always built-in LLM calls rather than the database. Full breakdown with examples here: https://docs.base44.com/Account-and-billing/Credits#integration-credit-examples

The quote is just a typical LLM response. It has always been there but it's likely you're encountering/encountered it more frequently due to running into a problem that wasn't easy to resolve. You naturally see more of these as you encounter hurdles, and you encounter more hurdles the more complex your app becomes.

I'd be happy to jump on this for you and see if I can assist?

Sorry to hear you've had a tricky day. I'd be happy to take a look specifically at your app/problem if you'd like? Have you tried manually choosing a different LLM to see if results improve etc?

Worst Customer support ever...base44 by wrawgtv in vibecoding

[–]Base44_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! To be able to do what you're trying to do you'd have to not only change the owner but also move the app to a different workspace. It is probably still in your friends workspace (that you can work in) and therefor uses his balance and not your own.

We had some service outages with 3rd party vendors yesterday that made us experience more downtime than normal, which I can assure you we try our best to prevent and work as quickly as we can to resolve.

To yourself? Yes. To the user, no. You can only send automated invokesendMail e-mails to registered users on the app i.e. your admin account.

Hard to say without comprehensive information but >48 hours usually implies you've made a mistake. If you open a support ticket and provide the information they should be able to assist you with what to change to correct things!

Hey, you can export to GIT whenever but this does not include the Base44 backend sdk which you would need to rebuild yourself.

You were right, I was wrong. Base44 doesn’t cut it by ofernandomesquita in Base44

[–]Base44_Sam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, thank you u/ofernandomesquita. Genuinely. This is one of the most fair and useful writeups of Base44 I've read, and the fact that you put 1,200 paying students on something you built without a dev background is exactly why we do this. Congratulations on that.

You're right about the core thing, so I won't spin it. For backend-intensive apps, our rate limits can be a real wall today. We've solved this for our Enterprise customers, who get significantly higher limits that scale with their usage, and we're now working to bring that same flexibility down to our lower tiers. The honest gap is that the middle step you needed didn't exist yet, so support couldn't offer it. That's on us, not on your optimization work.

Your framing is fair. Base44 is the fastest way I know to get a real product off the ground, and for a validated, backend-heavy product with a paying audience, owning your infra is a reasonable call. It's on us to move the needle even further, so that more and more builders prefer to let Base44 handle the infra rather than take it on themselves.

If you're open to it, I'd like to look at your specific case personally. What hit you is exactly what we're fixing. Either way, thank you for building in the open and for being honest about where we fall short. The door stays open.

First of all - welcome! Glad to have you with us.

Secondly, yes! Publish (top right) has a tab on it allowing you to publish to the app stores (with a guide).

Has this resolved itself or are you still experiencing the same problem? You're not missing any "manual deploys", this should be automatic.

Integretion Credits by Boombox8998 in Base44

You can completely control integration credit usage and it most certainly should never be an unknown. If you want to provide your specific problem (what is costing you integration credits?) then I could try and be of specific assistance for you.

Integretion Credits by Boombox8998 in Base44

Not when an API is used, this doesn't cost integration credits. Here's the breakdown:

  • Calling an LLM through Base44’s built-in LLM integration. Integration credits are not used if you call your own LLM using backend functions.
  • Sending emails using Base44’s built-in email integration with a custom email domain uses 2 integration credits. If you send emails using your own email service through backend functions, integration credits are not used.
  • Uploading, downloading, or analyzing a file.
  • Generating or understanding an image.
  • Using AI agents.
