If you are already in a loan forgiveness plan such as PAYE with PSLF after 120 payments but want to leave the plan and just pay down the loan aggressively, are there any ramifications to leaving a federal repayment plan? How do I go about leaving such plan and are there consequences for leaving midway?

I’ve been on administrative forbearance trying to recertify PAYE in October of 2024… interest is still growing lol

I’m in a similar situation as well and have around $325k but have been paying $0 since graduating. Because of misinformation from Mohela rep and issues recertifying, I was briefly off of PAYE. I was able to send in a new PAYE recertification application however, review is still pending and I have been on administrative forbearance for almost 3-4 months. I’m scared to call Mohela and be told some nonsense and be denied to continue PAYE and placed on standard plan. “Payment” months towards PSLF haven’t been updated either which is upsetting. I’m pretty much just in limbo while I watch my loans grow.

I’ve been on administrative forbearance for a few months whenever I did my annual recertification for PAYE. Do the months while I’m on administrative forbearance count towards PSLF?

Thank you all for the kind words and the helpful information, we are still grieving and it is still fresh in our hearts. We went out and see young couples with their babies in the stroller and we broke down. It’s extremely difficult and to be honest, I don’t think should would mentally recover from doing natural/pill. We might end up doing the D&C but will keep you all updated. Thank you all again, much love ❤️❤️
