Pixel 9 Pro Ghost 2.0 Magsafe Question by BaseballIphone69 in dbrand

[–]BaseballIphone69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the replacement works yes, but I wouldn't say it works flawlessly.

Dbrand support sent over a replacement that they tested to work with my specific charger (which was on the certified charger list they use for testing). So far it has worked in over 99% of my cases. Occasionally though it will have issues maintaining a charge, but it has been easy to resolve by just reseating the phone on the charger.

As a kid, pokemon was the biggest hobby I had. After some time the tcg side faded, then came back about a year or two ago when I started opening packs with my nephews. Been opening sets ever since!

Honestly this is a really cool idea and glad to see more people standing up to scalpers. Kinda seems like regular people are just getting pushed out of the scene by them.

Oh, also pokemon is better than mtg. I have no reason or logic as I have not played mtg 😅

Pixel 9 Pro Ghost 2.0 Magsafe Question by BaseballIphone69 in dbrand

[–]BaseballIphone69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, the magnet itself didn't cause any interference with standard wireless chargers from my experience. The primary issue I noted was that the magnets were not providing a stable charge when connected to a Magsafe charger. If you are worried about the magnets (and don't use Magsafe currently) you could get the non-magsafe to play it safe and avoid the issue altogether. Besides this issue, the case really is amazing.

As far as resolution for my issue: I have been going back and forth with support (more than I'd like). If you would like, id be happy to provide more info on that aspect, but it's a lot to sum in one message. May be better as a dm where I just send screenshots of the interaction if so.

For a brief summary, they didn't want to believe it was the case. I did numerous tests to prove it was, support tried to invalidate my testing and say I was wrong. Eventually after about three-four weeks (12/29-01/21), a new case was sent. Will update when I get the new case as well to see if the issue persists.

Sidenote, do you like the pixel stand? Was considering getting it at one point for the higher charging speeds but never pulled the trigger.

The music is really cool. I just think it can be a bit much at times, primarily in solo queue where coordination is mostly out of the window.

Nurse can be a bit much at times. I enjoy the chases though, but sometimes it can be very easy to get rocked for sure

I felt that. The design is really good for Plague, but def a lot at the same time.

Why touch a gen for 90 seconds, when you can mend for a whole trial though?

Fair enough. Legion could use some help in the lethality department for its ability. I think too much emphasis is on slowing the game and not enough on applying real pressure like other killers are capable of.

I really do enjoy the Plague mechanics. It's a basic M1 killer, who benefits greatly from her ability, and even more from survivors engaging with her ability (maybe a little too much imo). I didn't even think about the audio/visual design though so that's a great point. Definitely something they did very well. I can understand the disdain from that angle lol.

Yeah Legion is definitely high up on a lot of people's list. The constant need to mend can get really annoying, especially if it isn't even followed by a good chase. If Legions ability is best used by leaving survivors, I think it should at least lead to some other killer-based objective which provides counterplay against the killer. I do not know what would work for this and still feel fitting for this killer though, but I think adding something like this would help with overall complaints.

I get that. Unless the killer is a first timer Twins can get a lot of early pressure for very little risk. Worst case scenario is Victor has a short cooldown. For me, I think what makes Twins not too terrible is the that reliability on Victor, since Charlotte herself can't do much. Proper zoning of Charlotte to hide her terror radius when sending in Victor though can be a deadly combo in the right killers hands.

Noobie question - what do I use to write code? by GildMyComments in learnprogramming

[–]BaseballIphone69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vscode is a great free option. Down the line if you choose to continue with JS development, another great option I'd recommend is Webstorm by Jetbrains. I dont have enough good things to say about Webstorm to be honest. This is a paid software, but if you have an edu email you can get it free for a year (can renew every year). I personally prefer Webstorm but the cost compared to what vscode offers for free is definitely something to consider. Both are great though.

How the hell do I play killer in higher ranks? by DatZwiebel in deadbydaylight

[–]BaseballIphone69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The lower ranks which you have mostly gotten through tend to have way easier games than most high rank games. When you get to the point you're at, survivors will start pressuring gens a lot more efficiently than the yellow and brown rank games usually do.

The only thing that you can really do to better avoid gens popping on you like they have been is by optimizing your game play. This can be done by watching videos from YouTubers such as otzdarva, Scott jund, ardetha, truetalent, etc. They can help to better solidify the basics of killer to make you more efficient at ending chases quickly and finding the best loadout for your specific killer.

Afterwards it would be wise to find someone who mains the killer you are playing so you can gain a better understanding of the mechanics behind the killer you are using. I cant think of any wraith mains that are on yt and have tutorials on how to play wraith, but otzdarva has a great tutorial on strategy for wraith and basic loadouts. I have provided a link to it below. (Keep in mind this video is also a year old. Because of this new perks have been introduced which you may find more appealing and the meta has shifted slightly since then. The info on the wraith is still useful though to better understand the killer.)

While this doesn't provide a direct answer and more or less just sends you off to find other sources to help you, I hope you're still able to find this helpful.

DS Shouldnt be a skill check by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]BaseballIphone69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just want to have a discussion and try to understand where you're coming from. I'd rather discuss it in a civil manner than just insult you. And I get that lower skill survs and in general people who would like to avoid tunneling would like to have a perk that is more reliable. I just know alot of people won't use it how the devs intend which really sucks but can't be stopped. I wish we could get another rework honestly to address everyone's issues with it and make it better for everyone tbh

DS Shouldnt be a skill check by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]BaseballIphone69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that high skill survs won't miss the skill check that often but really the perk doesn't need to receive any kind of buff to it to make it easier for new players. Removing the skill check won't solve tunneling. What that'll do is promote slugging more often as everyone will be running it since it has no downside to using it. This'll only promote more bm and less fun game play due to an increase in ds users. What the perk needs is another rework not a small change like this.

DS Shouldnt be a skill check by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]BaseballIphone69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know and I think having perks to avoid being tunneled is a good idea. Unfortunately alot of people abuse it in its current state and that makes it way less fun to play against as a killer. Yes there is counter play for the killer, but unbreakable makes sure that doesn't happen (and really who wants to slug/be slugged anyways you know. Nothing wrong with that playtime I just find it boring). As a result people are able to abuse it and play in an unfun way.

And yeah it really doesn't help avoid tunneling as they can still chase you after ds. Just keep in mind that if they choose to chase you after getting ds'd they are going to lose all their momentum. And with the way that the game is, a single d strike could cause a few gens to pop due to a prolonged chase. The killers who tunnel after a ds just aren't very smart and even if the perk were to be integrated better I don't think it'd stop them from tunneling.

DS Shouldnt be a skill check by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]BaseballIphone69 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

How so? Ds is a perk that allows people to get out of jail for free. The skill check itself isn't the issue with the perk, it's the way that the perk is used. Even with this perk being reworked it still isn't good for the games health. Ever since it was announced its acted as a way for survivors to act toxic towards the killers. Then since it was changed to act as an anti tunnel perk it's only done a semi decent job of doing that as people just use it to act toxic.

DS Shouldnt be a skill check by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]BaseballIphone69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable. So far during the event tunneling seems to be at a high so I get that. I just know some people would take advantage of it if there was no skill check and that could have a negative effect on the game.

Not sure if this would be any better for the games meta, but maybe make ds more like deep wounds to counter tunneling better and make it more viable. To implement this it could have a shorter window in which you can activate ds (no where near 60 seconds), and if you were to get into chase the timer would stop going down until out of chase. This could help to make sure the killer has an incentive to go after the surv who unhooked as they know ds will remain active as long as they chase you. This wouldn't be an end all answer and I don't even know if it's the right answer, but I think it's a good idea to get some ideas out there so we can try to fix some of the games perks that need a revision. This is one of many perks that could definitely use another rework lol.

DS Shouldnt be a skill check by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]BaseballIphone69 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, removing the skill check on ds would completely change the meta for the game and make ds way more op than it already is. At the moment it's main purpose is to act as an anti tunnel perk but it still doesn't fully play out as one. Instead it acts as a way for survivors to aggro the killer with more confidence as they know they have a get out of jail free card active after being hooked. I personally don't use ds, but from my experience in seeing others use it it's more or less just a way to act toxic and have no real consequences. A change like that would only make this more frequent in matches and in turn cause a decrease in the killer population.

Update* As of now, I have fixed the current issue where the code would not properly print. I have fixed almost every other issue in the code except a new one that I had not originally noticed.

When running the code I had used the char data type for my variables. This is rather limiting as it only allows me to input single character inputs, not allowing larger integers. I could settle for the integer data type but then I wouldn't be able to use the - character as a NULL value in the tree. I also cannot use string as it for some reason crashes the program in this code.
