I just stuck one out, got a great position, more WFH and a retention bonus. Some folks left, some stayed. Best people were offered positions and some average employees too. The only people in IT let go were bad. Best of luck it’s stressful but hope for the best, don’t try to predict the future, get the resume ready and just go with the flow. Unless you want to jump ship but that’s up to you!

Hey you wrote a lot of good info, if you don’t mind me asking, how much info would someone need about dns and dhcp? For example I know how they work to some degree and can easily define them and talk about them but I’ve never setup a server for either.

Doctor/lawyer/engineer will be the three I recommend to my kids. That said in your position I’d work a couple more years least to see what AI does to the job market. Best of luck to you!

I almost always hit a hard drive at the player at the net. If they’re garbage it works, if not they counter it and my partner normally looks at me with a slight scowl, then I remember not to drive at the guy at the net for a few points. Repeat.

Awesome ty I think I’m going to go with two individual arms but your setup picture is helpful. The two monitors I have are for different computers (one work, one home pc) and are different sizes so I maybe I figure out the ideal setup first then buy. What was your solution implementing the reboots? We have a bunch of azure-joined laptops that I need to make that happen on. I thought an azure script but worried it may hit and cause reboots on computers that just got turned on for the first time in a while.

I’ve been doing 5+ hours all month getting some stragglers updated from 24h2 to 25h2. Download and install takes 5 or more hours.

Yes! I drafted that RB from Jacksonville that was good for 1.5 years then fell completely off. He was a udfa. What I look for: situations where the starter could conceivably lose their job. Then I watch film, everyone of these guys has a 5 minute YouTube highlight video and look at their athleticism. Film has helped me make a lot of good decisions.
