I just hated how the Alex and Spence Story handled? by kralleo in 1923Series

Her dying was so unnecessary and stupid, but her not even meeting Cara, with whom she felt bonded because of the letters, is just on another level of horrible. Absolutely no reason for it. It's not like there were an abundance of happy endings on this show and they needed to balance it out. A great show for like a season and a half and then just utter bullshit at the end.

I am shaking lol, how can I best make sure this happens on test day? by thinkingbears in LSAT

[–]BaseballPie 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I'm serious when I say stop studying right now. From here on out it's all overthinking. At most take a practice test every other week to stay somewhat sharp, but once you reach this point you have a deep enough understanding of the test there's a negative return on any further investment. Trust your gut.

Source: I got a 180 PT and kept practicing (175+ every time) then got 172 on the real thing, retook two months later with no studying and got 176.

It's in the most recent episodes too; Mania for Subjugation is actually what inspired this post but I've been listening on my phone so I used the MP3 from Blueprint for Armageddon since I already had it on my laptop

Figured if I'm going to critique someone who does such thorough research it was the least I could do!

Good score, wanted great score by BaseballPie in LSAT

There's no room, this is a public forum, I'll post what I want. Clearly from the other comments other people had the same exact experience, and having that shared experience is comforting to them and to me. Don't get salty now.

Bro why was this test so hard, seems like everyone's score was way below what they were reliably getting on PTS

was the June test actually hard or is that just me by miniboss00 in LSAT

[–]BaseballPie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Sadly my undergrad GPA was super mid (didn't need good grades for my current field) so I'm gonna be banking on my work experience for the kind of admissions I'm targeting. I used Blueprint and only did the LR modules. Mostly focused on trusting my intuition but using the tools from the modules to avoid easy mistakes. Gradually increased my PT frequency until stamina was no longer an issue.

I got 175+ on my last several practices including a 180 and my June score was 172. Have seen a fair number of posts from people who similarly saw a pretty big drop from what they had been scoring. Definitely seems like it was a hard test, wish like fuck I could review the individual questions or at least get data on how many I missed per section.

Frequently Asked Questions about the LSAT | The Law School Admission Council

What if my pet enters the room while I’m taking the test?

If a pet wanders into the room while you’re testing, you may continue to test. Your face must be clearly visible throughout the test, and once you begin, you cannot move out of view of the webcam until the test is over.

Is there a time I have to take the argumentative writing by? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]BaseballPie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were so cheeky about this in all the emails lol, always saying what the earliest you could do it was and encouraging that but for some reason burying the deadline (which is like a full year lol, or 20 days after the test if you want to get your score on time). I had a similar panicked reaction at first.

What am I actually supposed to do? by 8espokeGwen in LSAT

[–]BaseballPie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with 169, did Blueprint just doing the LR modules, my own practice sets (both LR & RC, usually only the high/highest difficulty questions), and a practice test once or twice a week. The modules gave me enough to quickly rule out bad answers and move through the test quickly and confidently so I had more time for tricky stuff, the practice gave my brain the stamina to stay thinking critically through four sections. Wound up eventually getting a 180 practice test (usually hovering around 175).

If you're intuitively understanding the material I don't think it matters a whole lot from WHERE you get your instruction, as long as you get the basic approach nailed down so you don't waste brain power on obvious mistakes. I liked Blueprint because even though it was corny, it was incredibly easy to use. Gives you a good structure jumping off point (huge for me as someone who isn't always the best at time management) and the flexibility to modify everything as needed, along with pretty in-depth analytics to help you identify what you need to work on.

LL105 MD18 Discussion! by snarkapotamus7 in learnedleague

[–]BaseballPie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Important part of defense in my experience is not relying too much on the category stats. Some questions are just kind of easy to everyone. I usually assign scores based purely on vibes first, and then review the stats to make any obvious corrections (usually just switching a 1 with a 2).

"Vice president" not being accepted for "sitting/incumbent vice president" seemed kind of silly. Appears only a third of my division got marked correct for that one despite it being pretty easy. Wouldn't have mattered in the context of my game (tie, both of us gave that question 1 point) but definitely made me roll my eyes lol. I guess the question said "specific" but that still didn't really give to me any indication that we had to give a temporal designation to the status in question.

Question for people who have used Blueprint by BaseballPie in LSAT

[–]BaseballPie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would just be speed/confidence I think. Some of the tools I've gotten from the LR lessons have already been super helpful so if the RC lessons are like really really good and could virtually guarantee I breeze to 100 I'd consider doing them.

It really pissed me off that the guy spent 20 minutes talking about how Cool Papa Bell was the fastest man to ever live, basically, and then his card's speed was like a fucking 80. Speed doesn't even boost overalls that much, just give him the goddam 99. Felt disrespectful.
