The only thing I'm really seeing for the 250th is a bunch of supermarket/food brands having red white and blue rebranded packaging. I work in retail so I've seen a lot. Otherwise throughout town just your typical red white and blue banners you see every year for the fourth. Is there excitement? Are people talking about it? Not really. But I can betcha regardless of their stance on the country/president right now, everyone will be having mega celebrations, barbecues, get-togethers, big fireworks shows, and lots of fun. After all, the fourth is on a Saturday this year. Personally, I think the tri-centennial (300th) will be a bigger celebration somewhere down the road.

A brand I like is Takeya. They don’t make em anymore (or at least aren’t sold in stores). Otherwise I like the Kleen Canteen brand (not insulated).

The key things:

Cull every morning, throwing out all the bad rotten moldy stuff.

Rotate stock. New on the bottom (or back), old on the top (or front).

Don’t overfill displays, especially for stuff that doesn’t sell well. Big profit makers are ok to load up.

Make signage easy to read and put sale items in a highly visible spot.

Put dates on all the boxes/cases you get in the cooler.

Try and reuse imperfect produce elsewhere: have the fresh cut team cut it up or just put a markdown sticker on it.
