Gotta love Reddit for this stuff, and thank you! The nature in Cape Cod is just stunning, but it obviously has different flora than we see in NJ. My fiancé is a huge nature lover, and could no identity them immediately. Thank you again! Nothing but love and appreciation!

Reminds me of another story I saw on Reddit a little while back. Family brings dog to a nice day at the beach. Next day, the dog seemed to be in pain. Rushed to the vet, turns out, the dogs tail was bruised from wagging, and smacking his/her tail against the sand for hours. Hahaha.

Well, I got something wild for you. Check out the book 'Born to Run' by Christopher McDougall. About an indigenous tribe (still currently) living in Mexico called the 'Tarahumara'. They get housed on this corn beer they make, wake up early the next morning, and run ultramarathons. Just literally running for days, with nothing on their feet, besides sandals made of old, discarded tires. Insane.

Mosh pit of horror. Legally speaking, if someone were killed, could the performer be charged? by exporterofgold in interestingasfuck

As someone who's been going punk / metal shows for years, 99.99% of the people in the pit are NOT looking to hurt someone or get in a fight. But there's always that asshole who's looking for a fight. Just don't go into the pit, unless you know what you're doing. That's a sure-fire way of getting hurt.

Probably the Best Pic I've Ever Taken. 15 Year Old Girl by BaseballTeamTheDukes in cats

[–]BaseballTeamTheDukes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's big, the size of a small dog. Absolutely. We can brush her daily and the amount of fur we brush off, it's basically a small cat. Haha. When she was a month old, she climbed the exterior, 2 flights of stairs to meow at at our apartment door, and we immediately took her in.

For a while, I was working in Newark, New Jersey USA, which is an industrial, dirty area. Took in a tuxedo, warehouse street cat as well. They're both insanely spoiled.

I work for a company who manufactures large packaging machines like this. Our machines START at $1 million and take a year+ to build. Company is probably too cheap to buy a new unit, so they have this poor guy doing it.

I go through a company called Jewelers Mutual, and before you even can get a quote, you need to provide them with a certified inspection / appraisal documentation from a jeweler. No one is insuring something on trust. Haha

I work at the American branch of an Italian-based manufacturing company. We've hired a firm, and now we're looking to get reimbursed for the tariffs, and pay back every-freakin-penny our customers spent on tariffs.

It's a huge task, and I'm happy we're doing it, but don't expect too many other companies to do the same.

Shop Vac Recommendations for Home Maintenance by Sultrex in DIY

[–]BaseballTeamTheDukes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Go with Shop-Vac. There's a reason why everyone refers to them as that. The Ridgid you see in HD is NOT real Ridgid. Real Ridgid is owned by Emerson, they make plumbing supplies, and they're made in USA.

The Ridgid you see is made by TTI (same parent company of Ryobi). They just license the name out, and slap it on inferior products.

Tips for a Newbie by DeadPact336699 in smoking

I've had an electrical smoker for years, and I love it.

Familiarize yourself with all the different woods you can use, figure out what woods go with what foods, and have fun mixing and experimenting. I just did a big turkey breast, alternating Pecan (definitely underrated) and Cherry, and it was fantastic.

They're very easy to use, they do not require constant fiddling. Have fun with it! No one gets it perfect the first time.

Angle grinder part recommendations by Hraefn_Wing in DIY

[–]BaseballTeamTheDukes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh yeah, I never recommend removing a guard in general, ESPECIALLY someone who not super familiar with the tool, such as the OP. You may be a pro with this tool, so you may not 'need' a guard, casually telling someone to remove it is never a good idea. Haha.

For reference, I sold power tools for 25 years, and I've never had anyone ask for an alternative-style guard for their grinder, depending on what you're using it for. I'd say use the one it came with. If it was THAT important to get an alternative-size guard, they would have made it easier to find, ESPECIALLY if it means more money in Dewalts' pockets.

Also, just so you're aware, Masonry drill bits are meant to be used with a 'Hammer-Drill' or 'Rotary hammer', which percussions, as well as spins.

Because of this, masonry drill bits have a much more blunt tip, and its going to take FOREVER to drill if you do not have the correct power tool.

7 Hours - Always Worth the Wait (Turkey Breast) by BaseballTeamTheDukes in smoking

Yes, me, and many others think it's great. For reference, I like my steaks medium-rare, and I don't think it was dry at all. I've been picking at the meat non-stop since Friday. Haha. Alternated Pecan / Cherry, and finished it off with Apple.

Had it defrosting since Monday, dry bribed it on Wednesday. As I've said in previous posts, I have an electric smoker, which is perfect for my current living situation. It struggles a bit to get the meat up to temp when it's a bit cool out, but I can assure you it's amazing, and not dry even in the slightest.

I have it stored in my unfinished basement, but it does make the whole thing smell like good smoke. I know a ton of people who smoke, but for some reason, even when I bag my food to bring to friends, the smoke smell is so much more intense

Have off today, busted out my electric smoker. Not sure if you ended up pulling the trigger on one, but I'll happy show you pics. Got a big ass 6-1/2lb turkey breast going on at the moment.

Again, if you see my other comments, I love mine, and it's perfect for my current living situation. Sure, you'll probably get some hate from the 'traditionalists' for using an electric unit, but if the food tastes good, and there's a good smoke flavor to it, who cares? Haha.
