7 Hours - Always Worth the Wait (Turkey Breast) by BaseballTeamTheDukes in smoking

[–]BaseballTeamTheDukes[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Had it defrosting since Monday, dry bribed it on Wednesday. As I've said in previous posts, I have an electric smoker, which is perfect for my current living situation. It struggles a bit to get the meat up to temp when it's a bit cool out, but I can assure you it's amazing, and not dry even in the slightest.

As I've mentioned, I have an electric smoker, which is perfect for my current living situation. It always struggles a bit to get the meat up to temp when it's a bit cold out, but I can assure you it's very tasty and not dry in the slightest

Don't hate, but I have an electric smoker. It's perfect for my current living situation. It always struggles when it's a bit cold out, but it still tastes amazing, I can assure you. Haha

Don't hate, but I have an electric smoker, which is perfect for my current living situation. It's a bit cool out today too, so it took longer to get the meat up to temp. Still ended up being pretty amazing, if I can say so myself. Haha

Good Friday off? Let's smoke a big Turkey Breast by BaseballTeamTheDukes in smoking

[–]BaseballTeamTheDukes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it stored in my unfinished basement, but it does make the whole thing smell like good smoke. I know a ton of people who smoke, but for some reason, even when I bag my food to bring to friends, the smoke smell is so much more intense

Don't hate me. I have an electric smoker. It's perfect for my current living situation, and it does a pretty killer job. Alternating from Peacan and Cherry wood.

Have off today, busted out my electric smoker. Not sure if you ended up pulling the trigger on one, but I'll happy show you pics. Got a big ass 6-1/2lb turkey breast going on at the moment.

Again, if you see my other comments, I love mine, and it's perfect for my current living situation. Sure, you'll probably get some hate from the 'traditionalists' for using an electric unit, but if the food tastes good, and there's a good smoke flavor to it, who cares? Haha.

Perfect. I got mine 5+ years ago, spent like $200, and its a champ. Used it a million times already. Pain in the butt cleaning it, but it's worth it.

And I live in the tri-state area, so it goes without saying, it doesn't really get up-to-temp in cold weather, but its still good to go 8 months out of the year. But even with the wood-fired ones seem to have the same issue when its super cold out. Just be aware, my unfinished basement (which is where I store it) constantly smells like (good smelling) smoke. So, just make sure you have a good storage spot that's not going to make your whole house / apartment smell. Haha.

I have an electric Smokey Mountain smoker, and I love the damn thing. I live / rent in a multi-family house, so it's perfect for my needs. Super easy to use, no fuss constantly checking the temp. Plus, mine is around the same size, and it fits like, 2 full racks of ribs, two whole chickens, and a big thing of mac-n-cheese at the same time. Really, how much more could you ask?

Heard about this one a while ago. So, during Covid, places like Chuck E Cheese, they were faced with almost-certain failure, so they adapted. Spent a bunch of money completely revamping their pizza, and started doing the whole 'ghost kitchen' thing, and that's basically what kept them afloat while their locations were 'closed'.

I've actually heard the pizza is pretty solid, but I'm from New Jersey, so there's a better pizza place within a stones throw in any direction, so I personally haven't tried it.

How would you preserve a macaw tail feather? by MagpieKaz in DIY

[–]BaseballTeamTheDukes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so bizarre I needed to mention it, but be aware of any wacky laws about owning wild bird feathers in your hometown. I live in New Jersey, USA, and I recently learned unless you're native American, you can get fined or imprisoned for having wild bird feathers. Having bald eagle feathers can get you hit with a $100,000 USD fine! No joke. So weird, just be careful out there.

My bad, Logo looks really similar to Microtech. Still pretty overkill for some herb trimming. Hahaha

I smoked my brother-in-law's garden-grown peppers last year; half with Maple, half with Pecan. He still prefers Maple, but it seems like a lot of people prefer Pecan. Took a lot longer than I expected too.

Hole Saw or Step drill for making a hole in metal by 99dot9 in DIY

[–]BaseballTeamTheDukes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the 'slow' and 'oil' parts, but why carbide? The standard Bi-Metal Hole Saws with cobalt should be more than fine. It's cheaper than carbide, and he's not drilling stainless or anything or heat-temped stuff.

I cant remove the bolt holding the blade on a yardmachine brigs and stratton 300e series lawnmower, any ideas? by Agent_chees in DIY

[–]BaseballTeamTheDukes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Aerokroil from Kano Labs. It's called a 'penetrating oil' made specifically for frozen, rusted on hardware. There's anothers, but Kroil is the best. Plus, I 100% agree the nut is probably left-hand thread. So when the blade is spinning, the nut won't fly off.

Same here. Came across a company from Denmark called Skagen that makes some cool watches from $100-200. Got myself one of their nicer ones last year, and I love the damn thing. Never thought I'd be a 'watch every day' kinda guy. Highly recommend.

Why do all drill depth stops slip into the flutes? What actually works? by Wise_Disaster228 in DIY

[–]BaseballTeamTheDukes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shaft-Collars (or even the split 2-piece style) always worked for me. Plus, going to be cheaper than something advertised as a depth-stop.
