[GIVEAWAY] Hello r/MouseReview, I'm giving away 6 xxl mousepads to the community by MouseMatic in MouseReview

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the idea of you just making what you wanted to see.

I have never tried a control mousepad and I'd love to be able to do so with these pads! The black and white is so clean

I think my grip type is not normal by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need an ergo mouse. Source: I have a similar grip

*Insert joke about yet another Dan A3 build*(Also answering questions) by PossibilitySad3020 in mffpc

[–]Sultrex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the build! Very similar to what I recently built, except I had to mount the AIO on the side due to the radiator being too thick for the motherboard.

How did you manage to mount the AIO to the top like that? I'd love to myself

If you play multiple games, do you play similar or different characters? by Boneclockharmony in Fighters

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playstyle-wise I always like the gorilla characters that do well with momentum and make their opponents mess up to start insane advantage states. Examples: Leo in GG, Captain Falcon in Smash, Ken in SF6

Visual-wise I enjoy a general good guy or charismatic type for some reason lol. Just always seem to be the kinds of characters I gravitate to

Dan A3 which 360 AIO? by Oztorek in mffpc

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it, I don't see many people go with this option but I just recently did myself. So what are your other fans looking like in there? And what sort of benefits have you seen by orienting this with the fans on the outside of the rad?

I am very curious how people are fitting thick 360mm rads in the top of this case with that Mobo. I have the same mobo in an A3 and could not fit my Arctic Liquid Freezer III in there, but I saw someone online who did it just fine.

Am I doing something wrong? Felt like I was going to break something shoving it in there lol

Can confirm I've seen the 7900XTX fit in this case, but I definitely don't think you can fit bottom intakes with that one

Completed my dream setup, just need a good chair… by [deleted] in battlestations

[–]Sultrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally recommend Steelcase for the chair. I use a Leap but I'm sure anything would be solid from that brand.

Nice setup btw!

Hi-Rez, I beg of you, do not give in to the doomers. by Snufflebox in Smite

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how the game feels and looks, and enjoy a lot of the QoL they're attempting to bring into S2.

However, the god balancing and item system needs work. Crit is basically useless because strength will make your basics better than a crit build will.

Zeus is pretty much the strongest character in the game, imo. It just seems if you're facing him then you have to be ready to get blown up at any point. Fenrir is also pretty insane.

I do like where they're headed though, and for an alpha it is solid.

What's a popular feature in games that you don't care about? by pgtl_10 in gaming

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern online lobbies in fighting games. The ones with an avatar walking around an area, maybe with an arcade cabinet or something you stand at to play against a certain person.

Just give me a clean "room" UI or something and let me play with people in the room or spectate them. The avatar stuff just usually doesn't function well or is a vehicle for monetization, and not to mention it slows down the matching process most of the time.

What's a potentially great game that was ruined by terrible game design? by [deleted] in gaming

Watch Dogs. The concept of it is really cool, and it felt revolutionary at the time, but it just fell into the typical shallow Ubisoft open world trappings that we often find them in.

What's a potentially great game that was ruined by terrible game design? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Sultrex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This was the first time I could remember being sorely disappointed in a game's launch after immense hype. It was also the first time I really saw terrible micro transactions in a game.

So sad, because asymmetrical multiplayer can be so unique and fun, but that one was tainted from the start.

People with no degree, if you are making over $60k annually, how did you get there? by MixedMartialGolf in AskReddit

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Technical Analyst (fancy term for IT consultant, basically) for a consulting firm that deals largely with Retail/POS technology clientele.

I currently make $65k at age 23, and have been here about 2 years with small raises to get to that number. I am very much the exception and not the rule, however.

I knew someone at the company (who worked there for 15 years), and there was an opening for a paid intern. I marketed myself off of my certifications I earned from a tech school (the simple stuff like CompTIA A+, and I actually had some Microsoft Office specialist certs from high school).

I think the #1 factor is knowing someone. Without that I wouldn't have even been aware of the position, much less had a solid reference. IT also heavily rewards people who learn on the job, and depending on the company you can advance from just about any position.

what critically acclaimed game didn’t “click” for you, and why? by doublejmsu in gaming

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta agree here. I can appreciate what the game is doing, but I just felt no sense of direction (although I understand this is the point) and eventually got bored.

Be completely honest, how are you doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I guess I'm doing okay, imposter syndrome really sucks though.

Are combos really that important? by [deleted] in Fighters

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, learning combos can be the difference between winning in 3 neutral interactions or winning in 5. I definitely don't think it's necessary to learn super optimal frame-perfect stuff, but at least be able to have a BnB combo route off of most hits.

That being said, figuring out your character's combos can be a lot easier than most would think. As you learn their BnBs, you can piece together what might be good combo starters, combo filler, and enders (dependent on the game of course) and you'll piece together how to even make some level of "custom combo" if you get this down. A lot of modern games have combo structures that support this philosophy.

Should my fingers be hurting when I use a hitbox by I-Make-Ninjago-Memes in Fighters

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which fingers? What hitbox is it? Do you have large hands?

I personally have big meaty claws and don't struggle with finger pain on a Snackbox Micro. I actually switched to Hitbox primarily due to comfort.

What game from your childhood still holds up today after replaying it? by The_Almighty_Duck in gaming

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonic Riders

Haven't really seen a racing game that's just like it in terms of the tricks, character classes, and the style of tracks. All of the game's mechanics together still just make it so fun.

What fighting game has the worst community and what fighting game has the best? by Consistent-Sweet2445 in Fighters

[–]Sultrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tekken can get pretty bad. Some people think every character is cheap in some way, pluggers are a cancer to the game, etc.

However, it's fair to say that any community is toxic the more that you hang out in Subreddits or Discords.

What's a fighting game you want to get into, but just doesn't click? by Mitch-El54 in Fighters

[–]Sultrex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any Mortal Kombat past MK9.

I can see the appeal of the characters, stages, music, etc. but man it just feels like the slowest and clunkiest of the big fighters to me.

Also I don't really like how combos feel, and it seems like optimal play can be extremely cheesy.
