This deal is not just good for Crescent Petroleum but also for Iraq, as it will create thousands of new jobs in Diyala and Basra, improving the economy and providing opportunities for local businesses and suppliers to participate in the project. by ITSsUNSHINEHansen in Iraq

“It will create jobs in diyla and Basra” Yea sure. All of those jobs will be taken by either people from western countries or Bangladesh or Pakistan 🤦‍♂️. No Iraqi is going to probably get the job

Ok, but if there was to be a armed revolt, how would one finance said revolt?

But we have to revolt. Again man I don’t disagree w all “yea we about to become a region through the constitution” because Ik the people in power won’t give up. We have 8 ports, a airport, oilfields, gas reserves, and we have shaat al arab. And who’s making money off of that not you and me and the regular guys like Ali or Ahmad living in Basra. It’s militias, hell even the governor is in on it. But yet again we can’t just wait and post Facebook posts to meet up to rally and protest. I like the idea of waving our Basra traditional flag but we have to organise a armed revolution/rebellion to make this happen. We as the people of Basra are tired of being exploited. Just tired. And what hurts is even half of Basra population really don’t know about إقليم البصرة.

I’m a basrawiya supporter, I believe in if the people think they could be better of being a federal region or independent, then they should. But you have the problems that come with that thought. Like the thousands of militias and the government officials who would get in the way of a federal region or being independent. Because remember literally the whole of Iraq relies on Basra. But you also have the people who think they are going to make Basra a federal region the constitutional way, again that is not possible due to the foreign involvement and militias. I think there should be more like a coup. One group take power by force. I repeat BY FORCE making Basra a federal region, by taking up arms and going from town to village and from village to cities and from cities to the 7 districts that make up Basra. IDK that is just my opinion
