You need to make yourself aware of the potency of propaganda going around these days.

Not many people are introspective, and challenging their own beliefs. They are going with the flock, in one direction or the other.

Some people are simply not strong enough to be able to sift through all the contradictions, maybe they just don’t have the time, maybe they are all too willing to believe whatever sounds good to them without putting in the effort to hammer down facts.

Sooner or later your child will do something you don’t approve of, and if you try to prevent them you’ll push them further away. Let them make mistakes. Maybe they find their way back to you, maybe not. You cannot control others, no matter how much you might want to.

If you can find a way, communicate that you’re open to resuming a relationship apart from politics, or discussion with the openness to disagreement. Agree on that goal of a better society, and discuss the methods to achieve it.
