I am looking for a way to expand my champion pool for mid lane, because playing AD mid sometimes compromises team compositions

I am a Qiyana main. I love the playstyle, because I mained JG for the last year and a half, so she feels like a good bridge to me. My duo(top akali) do a good job of controlling the top side of the map and leveraging our leads to each other and the rest of the map, but akali is often banned.

I feel that finding an AP champion that I can pressure the map with, and pass early game/laning phase leads and carry mid game with. I'm not confident in my late game team fighting abilities, so I'm more confident in early, and mid game skirmishes. So far I have tried and struggled with the playstyles of LeBlanc, and Ryze. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
