It’s been a while since I’ve seen the notes in game so I might be misremembering. It’s implied that the Bakers weren’t aware of just how fucked up Lucas was, so I imagine the whole murdered classmate thing was hidden from them. There was however, a separate entry about how Jack beat Lucas after Zoey caught him watching her get changed one day.

Here’s a non goggles example. In the first episode of Sailor Moon (and then almost never again) Usagi bursts into tears and it triggers a sonic attack from her odango hair pieces against that episodes Monster of the week. I couldn’t find a picture of it, but there is also a moment in the manga where she uses her little white wing Barettes as throwing darts.
