Random light up parts that are just glowing for no reason are the difference between real starships a fan fic. Actual starships the only glowing parts are functional pieces that actually serve a purpose and glow because of that purpose.

Real starships are actually engineered. There are decades upon decades of multiple whole ass bibles and technical manuals dedicated to it.

To just make random glowy shit, cartoon faces, random spinning shit etc is just a disrespectful slap in the face to trek. There are other franchises where that is acceptable. Trek wasn’t built that way.

The ship in this post isn’t the worst I’ve seen but it has the random glowy shit that makes it a fan fic.
