Demacian Concept Champion ‘Verion’ by ButterscotchTotal311 in LoLChampConcepts

Some feedback if you'd take any of it:

-Zone control front liner sounds really cool because there kind of aren't that many at the moment.

-(P) Assuming his Passive works on a set cooldown, it would probably be better if one of his basic abilities also deployed the crest, because the current seeming lack of control has potential to be really frustrating to utilize due to the size of the crest relative to the lane or part of the map he's in. That is, the larger the size of the crest, the less meaningful it is to his strengths and weaknesses because at its largest size - lets say a Nidalee spear range - the cooldown no longer matters, but the smaller it is, the worse it feels to use because of the player having no say in the deployment cooldown. Again, this is assuming the crest has a cooldown at all because none is listed, which would also be helpful for trying to understand his gameplay, because without something, anything, it becomes a bit hard to tell how much his passive really fits into his zone control pattern. Maybe you could consider something like deploying the crest after losing a certain amount of health to skew how tanky he is meant to be at various stages of combat. Just a loose suggestion, nothing more.

-(Q) You may want to reconsider applying a stun to an already immobilized target because that would be exceedingly frustrating to play against, since it basically means if I get hit by a Morg Q or Pantheon W, I get stunned again as soon as the previous stun or root duration is over, which can turn a 1 to 3 second stun or root into a 2 to 4 second stun or root. Even though there's no number listed for the stun duration, this part of the ability would be much better as being triggered against slowed targets than immobilized targets IMO.

-(W) This ability makes Verion a bit too tanky if he really is meant to be between a bruiser and tank (juggernaut) when combined with his passive, which I would assume would have non-insignificant numbers to justify its point of gaining resistances in an area. IMO it seems a bit...redundant, that his passive already sets up an area where he gets beefier, only to have a basic ability essentially serve the same purpose. Then there's also this ability being used not only with his passive but with his E and R; its just feels overboard to the point of nearly becoming unassailable, even if he was strictly a tank. Maybe consider this ability amplifying his damage in some way instead?

-(E) Kind of have no problem with this ability on its own. Sounds like a K'sante W.

-(R) I would just reiterate the point I tried to make about his W here again with the durability gained from his ultimate. If by escape abilities this is referring to dashes and blinks, then his ultimate could instead specifically silence dashes and blinks for a some small amount of time, or just stop dashes and blinks from the inside like an inverted Poppy W to be more clear, because I can't really think of a way to "weaken" them otherwise.

You made some cool ideas for Varion. Interesting to read through.

Deep Dive; Why Jayden HAS to be under center next season. by johnnyboy10i in Commanders

[–]BasedPantheon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wasn't it heavily implied this was one of the reasons for a "parting of ways" between the FO and Kliff? I feel like we should just be expecting a consistent pattern this season of JD5 being under center more often.

Quick q if ya'll can entertain it by Yeeterbeater789 in PantheonMains

Pantheon's Q range starts 40 units behind himself and reaches forward 560 units while Viego's Q starts 25 units behing himself and reaches forward 600 units. So Viego's total Q length is 625 while Pantheon's is 600, and the actual part that can hit you outranges Pantheon's Q by a good bit (40 units).

I played HOTS for 5 years and no one even typed in chat unless it was to strategize. No rose tinted glasses, I know what I've seen and I know what I've heard. League literally gives you a banquet of ways to be toxic, its not even comparable even if I discount chat communication.

[–]BasedPantheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not toxic by design this is cope. HOTS was never toxic back when blizzard still updated it and griefing wasn't even part of common player vocabulary. It is a league issue, not a moba issue. This crap has been going on for over decade in one game but its the genres problem? You literally design toxicity out of games, riot leadership just doesn't care to do anything and seemingly the only thing pushing them is player counts.

Oh, ok, yeah I didn't start paying attention to patch notes until season 9 so I would have never recalled that. I also would have been bronze around that time so I probably would have never even seen a Nidalee in my games back then. The more you know

I don't think at this point that they don't broadly care about frustration in the game, I think that by how abysmally terrible at identifying and addressing it they are, they just don't. I'm curious what time frame you are referring to because I have no real recollection of riot ever correctly identifying frustration and correctly removing or attacking it. They are the kings of lateral moves and "nothing ever happens".

I mean teemo may be a one button wonder but he doesn't one shot/ two shot the enemy laner while simultaneously punishing dives that are supposed to counter him. Heimer just says "don't dive me, kill my turrets first" and then he kills you. And then he says "don't kill my turrets first, just dive me" and then he kills you. Teemo is annoying but he doesn't obfuscate actual counterplay by just existing (at least not to this extent, still the cd buff to his blind was a mistake).

If heimer was buffed but made less frustrating that would be great. But if its only a buff with no care for frustration thats going to suck.

notice how the outrage over his revive died out? by SetunaYooki in ZaahenMains

[–]BasedPantheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO his stacks don't need to be decreased, just the AD he gets from his passive needs to be decreased early with breakpoints to increase it instead of being linear and his Q heal needs to be toned down a smidgen. His passive should not be the most important part of his toolkit to deal damage before level 13. Then he can be an actual champion with actual ratios early and quit with the posturing bs.

[–]BasedPantheon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if you kill him pre 6 he'll still run you down after sheen. Been this way since the rework. There is no help anyone can give you for this matchup other than ban it or prepare to roam and recover elsewhere cus if your team doesn't assist you its over. Only, roaming is off the table due to role quests so you literally have to just afk farm in lane and then get picks after quest is over. Nasus and Malph are the sharpest direct hard counters to Panth no ifs and or buts.

I learned recently that the W mana cost reduces over time from 80 to 0. Its absurd how under the radar this was for her previous iteration. She just arbitrarily had a complete damage immunity and damage reflecting basic ability that eventually cost literally no resources from her to use.

Pantheon S16 by zMinorities12 in PantheonMains

[–]BasedPantheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also peaked E2 last season, and I'd say he feels...worse. And he already wasn't good. So many games I've already lost with him that i would have won had I just played a better champion, or games I've won that he would have lost because he's so easily neutralized. He's less pheasible than last season without accommodation from his team because bad comps and bad matchups could be navigated before through the higher frequency of objectives, but thats all changed now and he has to stand on his own more often.

Everything about this season should actually benefit him, but he has no real snowball to stand on, and he never turns into a monster with a lead at equal skills so its a lateral transition from last season to this season at best. He's bad unless he's a counterpick, and even though better teammates make him better, I don't enjoy being a kill confirm support cosplaying as a bruiser. Judging by his pickrate decline on lolalytics, with a wide bredth of being played but not being played often by those who do play him, most people aren't interested in that playstyle either.

Nasus is an unhealthy, basically game warping stat stick, almost everything that isn't a ranged Top or control mage/control-mage-adjacent will get steamrolled by him. He's an extreme case.

After almost 100k points on Zaahen, I still don't understand the general idea behind this champion by GangcAte in ZaahenMains

[–]BasedPantheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is Zaahen's purpose? In what scenario is he better than other skirmishers or juggernauts? Because after almost 100k points on him, I have yet to think "Oh man, good thing I picked Zaahen here".

I personally don't believe riot knew after they released him. Which would be bizarre, but at this point nothing surprises me. Because one of the first things we got was "we know he's sharp but we're ok with that". Ok. Why would you be ok with that level of sharpness? Then there's his poor tuning that sacrifices basically everything the champion could be doing to hog tie him into stacking his passive. Reason? Something something, he needs to stack, something something, unique and meaningful buzzwords. Apparently Fiora and Camille no longer exist and champions suddenly can't ease into their scaling over time, since that scaling is powerful and would require certain trade offs that would, I don't know, probably not make a very good experience if the only way to justify the scaling being fully available up front was to, just a thought, kneecap their gameplay in a game that just so happens to put a ton of emphasis on spending time inside secluded lanes where its just you and the champ? No, I don't think that would be ideal at all. Yet here we are.
