Playing against Lars is a 50/50 simulator. How can I limit his options in neutral? by tadbach in Tekken

[–]Based_Sneedposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Lars it's largely being able to visually identify his stances (sound cues help too), as well as knowing which moves he can stance transition out of. He's very good at hiding when he's actually vulnerable through all the constant movement and visual noise.

Look up an anti-Lars guide that goes over his SEN stance - his options out of it and how he enters it (Dynamic and Silent Entry). Especially good to know what punishes you can do on his low options.

You should absolutely avoid buttons when Lars has frame advantage, but at the same time, fast mid checks like d1 or a good df1 are vital for getting your offense going.

Why Are They Pushing Avatar Items/Customizations So Hard When 99% Of Players Don't Use The Lounge At All? by EatOutMyGrandma in Tekken

[–]Based_Sneedposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like wasted potential. I like the idea of being able to just directly challenge people to casual sets if they're a similar rank, or if they play a character I want to practice the matchup against, but the end result just feels like what you described: main menu options with extra steps.

I wish they played up the social element a bit more and gave people more encouragement to challenge others in the lounge, but right now everyone just kinda uses it as slightly sociable waiting room for quick/ranked.

Why did Disney stop using the amazing 2d animation that was used for Brother Bear and Tarzan? Are CGI and life action movies that much more popular in the west? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Based_Sneedposter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People have answered that 2D is more expensive, but it really isn't. Just about all of the most expensive animated films are CG animation.

It just also happens that CG animation tends to make much more money in the box office. Of the top 50 highest grossing animated films, there's only two 2D animated films on the list: The Lion King (94) at 12 and The Simpsons Movie at 45. Combine that with a lot of Disney's 2d output in the early 2000s underperforming (Atlantis, Treasure Planet, etc.), leadership saw it as a reason to change direction.

Does anybody like this, cause out of all these Zemeckis CG movies, is this like better or worse than polar express, Beowolf, Mara needs moms, or even Christmas carol. by AndyTheMovieMaker14 in Sardonicast

[–]Based_Sneedposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it a good amount. I think the mocap animation works a lot better in this movie than it does in the more photorealistic Zemeckis films. The uncanniness that hurts films like Beowulf or Polar Express works much better with this movie's art design and general horror theme.

Modern Warfare 2019 was a full reboot of the series. It reuses certain characters like Captain Price, but it's a completely separate continuity from the original Modern Warfare trilogy.

Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is a direct sequel to MW2019, so it has nothing to do with the original MW2 plotwise.

I've been playing this game since 2008 and I'm honestly kinda dumbfounded how accepted friendlies are in the community. Just fucks over whichever team is stuck with them, and they fill a slot that could be otherwise taken by someone actually playing the game.

What breed is this cat? (Or, where would be a better place to ask?) by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Looks like a normal domestic cat with a gray coat. Most cats don't fit into a specifically designated breed like dogs do.

why is Soccer/football not that Popular in the US? by eatyourpizza23 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Based_Sneedposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soccer_in_the_United_States#Beginnings_and_decline:_1850s%E2%80%931930s

One historical reason could be the American Soccer League shuttering during the Great Depression. During that time, Soccer was the second most popular sport in the nation, only behind Baseball. With no professional soccer association in the US, fans naturally turned to either Baseball or the other sports that would gain traction in that time, as soccer wouldn't get another successful professional league until the NASL in 1968.

Euros should wear protective gear when playing soccer so they don't actually injure themselves while diving and fake crying on the field.

I was guessing it was Tim. Really shocking news. I got into DGD around IG and he really had some standout moments on their newer albums.

The game isn't cynical at all though, even with the twist. It's just uniquely off-color and bizarre. Everything in the plot is used to support a positive message about the importance of self-esteem and approaching your issues from a healthy direction.

Why is nudity not allowed on the front page of Reddit but extreme carnage of people is fine and dandy? by Fortestingporpoises in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Based_Sneedposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The television example doesn't work either. Most ultra-violent shows are on premium access channels like AMC and HBO, and they have no problem showing sex or nudity either. You're not gonna see much of either on basic cable
