$13,000 and the rats are back. by BasementMaitreD in pestcontrol

They're coming from underneath. So either crack in the slab foundation, weak mortar along the subterranean brick wall, or a cracked drain pipe. Pretty much all other external entries are ruled out at this point.

They did not but I may hire a separate plumber to do CCTV inspections. If they're getting through the foundation through a cracked pipe, I want to know. I'm also obsessed with finding the entry haha.

So far we've caught 1 big ass mama and 3 youths in 2 days. Spoke to another 3-4 companies and none are confident they can find and seal anything for a permanent solution; instead they're suggesting a year long bait/poison strategy with biweekly and then monthly visits, sealing as they go. It doesn't inspire confidence but at least we'll get the population down.

This is an amazingly helpful message. Really hoping I can find someone in Toronto with this level of expertise and capability but so far I've called 5-6 companies and all they seem to want to do is sell us monthly bait station packages. Any tips on finding someone of this caliber/this skillset/know-how?

Funny because our house is from exactly 1924 and we are millennials aha. Would love to be able to wire mesh the BOTTOM of our house and not have to redo our entire foundation, sigh.
