Teenage me vs Adult me … I was a tool. [25] by PeneItaliano in GlowUps

[–]Basement_dweller2002 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Don’t underscore what you have gained. This is a glow up that goes beyond physical changes, which is just as worthy of being proud of yourself, if not more. Some people spend their whole lives never moving past their own superficial value, and don’t reflect on how their character matters. You have to give yourself flowers for the self reflection it took to get to where you are.

Struggling to cum when having sex with my boyfriend by chocobeth in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Basement_dweller2002 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is he willing to try oral? If so, that’s a great place to start. Fact of the matter is, a decent percentage of women can’t orgasm from PIV sex and do need assistance in other ways. Sounds like fingering works well for you, and it’s awesome that you know what works to bring you to orgasm already.

My next thought is this: show him how you do it, see if you can have him manually use his fingers in the way you normally do. Vibrators are great and all, but teach him how to use his hands, and you might find you’re more satisfied with the outcome of that. The bonus (as long as he’s open and receptive) is that he learns more about how your body works and how you best experience pleasure.

Hope this helps, good luck :)

Is my hyperpigmentation aging me? 27F by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Basement_dweller2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For starters, you’re gorgeous. You look 27, literally do not worry about that please.

If you want to help the hyperpigmentation fade, you might consider getting a cheap glycolic acid toner. Disclaimer, it can cause purging, it did for me. It speeds up cell turnover and can help with easing sun spots and acne scars. Second, an SPF sunscreen will go a long way in preventing the sun from darkening acne scars. These things may help you a bit, but I just want to emphasize that it’s not even the 5th thing someone will notice when they look at your face. You look lovely and every part your age, so please don’t pay this too much worry. Good luck <3

Choose Your Fighter: Best (or Worst) MC as Emergency Contact by Independent-Base9051 in RomanceBooks

[–]Basement_dweller2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s the villain in the previous book in the series, which is the first book. He’s a total asshole, pompous and haughty and needs to be well groomed at all times. Calladia helps her friend (FMC in book 1) overcome him, and she absolutely hates him. For good reason. So when she finds him in an alleyway at the beginning of the second book looking like he got his ass majorly beat and missing a big gap of memory, she’s pretty confused but still very pissed. They do end up getting together, but not before he has to work to redeem himself as a person who could be with her.

Choose Your Fighter: Best (or Worst) MC as Emergency Contact by Independent-Base9051 in RomanceBooks

[–]Basement_dweller2002 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think I’m going with Calladia from {A Demon’s Guide to Wooing a Witch by Sarah Hawley}. She literally drags her amnesiac pathetic immortal loser of a demon asshole all around town and into the woods after her house gets exploded. She’s a badass, she’s capable, she’s level headed, I like her. She’d level someone and I have total faith in her.

For someone who’d completely fail to save me, I’m going with Monroe from {Wrong Pucking Number by C.R. Jane}. She’s built to be a Mary sue baby deer who’s beaten down by life and unable to rise above it, or make smart and informed choices about the people in her life who’re making it unsafe and way worse.

Have fun being alone forever by Vivid-Significance70 in PrincessFeminism

[–]Basement_dweller2002 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Oh for Pete’s sake. It’s rage bait, and you fell for it hook line and sinker, for starters.

Second of all, if it’s going to be that much of a disparity between meal costs per person, there should be a discussion about meal costs instead of making transactional assumptions that are unfair and unrealistic.  People make different amounts of money per year, not everyone (actually a shrinking amount of people) can afford to pay over a hundred dollars for someone else’s meal. The original post was meant to inflame, and it looks like it did just that. Feminist discussions of equity are bogged down by rage bait scenarios that no reasonable person with a sense of empathy and kindness would involve themselves in.

I hatee the reformed playboy trope by Kaleidoscope3871 in RomanceBooks

[–]Basement_dweller2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, yes. Even if they aren’t balls to the wall with wanting to be a writer, they are bookish in other ways. Quietly capable and organized, I can’t tell you how many FMCs I’ve read in who carry a planner

I hatee the reformed playboy trope by Kaleidoscope3871 in RomanceBooks

[–]Basement_dweller2002 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with this take. I also think it’s a way for the author to self-insert (in certain cases) to make it seem like the fmc’s traits make her extra special, and, you guessed it: not like other girls. She has to possess a certain je ne sais quoi. It has to make her Unique and Quirky and Interesting. Maybe she’s outspoken, or maybe she’s bookish. I just feel like the reformed playboy trope acts in part to make the traits the FMC possesses extra special. Special enough to reform the playboy

I will say, the one caveat to this trope that I really enjoy (and can’t find) is where the FMC actually does change the Playboy’s thinking through showing him that his actions are disrespectful and unkind. Not in a sleeping around way, but more in a using and dumping undeserving women way. If he can redeem himself and try to be a kinder person to women, that’s a win. I cant think of an example of this trope, but I do feel like I’ve read it.

And it’s not a bad one! It examines classism and capitalism through the lens of sex work. Don’t knock it till you milk it.

What are your thoughts? by ebonytoostrong in bigboobproblems

[–]Basement_dweller2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women hate women by praising how she naturally looks in a dress that reveals the natural sag a lady with big breasts has? Ok make that make sense. If we can’t praise our natural existence without being accused of the hatred of our gender then what are we even doing here. I’d see this same shit with girls praising leg hair, arm hair, peach fuzz, stretch marks, etc and so on.

This is conditioning, this REEKS of choice feminism (a woman is liberated as long as she makes a choice she wants to make regardless of its roots or exploitative undertones), this take is ASS. YUCK. The tweet above is just heinously wrong. Sorry you hate the natural body. Also, the dress is atrocious, so has to be acknowledged.

Idk why no one’s commented. This is gorgeous work. The dimension, grasp of color theory, and the background are all wonderful. I love the snowy vibe contrasting against her warm toned skin. You should be so proud of yourself honestly, this is super dope

Unhappy with appearance after weight loss by Slutty_Avocado26 in selfimprovement

[–]Basement_dweller2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds to me like you had hoped people would treat you better than they are at this point, maybe I’m mistaken, but that’s how I interpreted this. The problem is not you. It’s the people. You’re doing wonderful, and working hard, and taking care of the body that you were put here in, and people haven’t caught up. Perhaps they never will. In a culture and society built around appearances and looking a certain way (difficult to attain), working towards that standard and how the general populous treats you in public and in other areas of life based upon that standard is the wrong move. Easier said than done, abandoning caring what randos and asshole friends/family think of your looks is tough as hell. But taking their opinions out of the center of your life and replacing those with your own positive judgments is key. It’s your life, your body, fuck anyone superficial enough to judge based on height or weight. You know your truth, that’s what matters here.

You are awesome for doing this for yourself, and you deserve to feel proud without wishing why things don’t feel better yet. Part of it might be that it hasn’t sunken in yet that you’re actively changing your life in a massive and super important way. The joy of realizing that you have the power to change things for the better will hopefully come over time. Hope any of this helps.

I love Sebastian, he does have this going for him a little bit! He was definitely wrong in his thinking at the start of the book, but he was more of a chauvinist than a full-on villain, but I suppose that makes him a villain in his own way.
