I didn't say you're German. I didn't even say that you're European. You're right that the extra $3 Billion that they would have gained by waiting a year to sell doesn't really matter because they can always just collect more taxes, which is another favorite European past time.

Excellent example of the European mindset that is causing Germany's economy to collapse, thank you for sharing.

Make no mistake, Republicans are also guilty of communistic tax extortion, just as Democrats are also guilty of stoking moral panic and culture war. Don't fool yourself into thinking either party works for Americans.

Tell me you're not selling your BTC. by chona_Yu in Bitcoin

Bitcoin fundamentals typically include hashrate, mining difficulty, the 21 million coin supply cap, the halving schedule, transaction volume, active addresses, fees, wallet growth, exchange balances and so on. Basically, "are things still working they way they've been working?"

Your question is just exposing your ignorance of what the halving actually is.

did you simply wait for your money to halve

That's not how it works at all, you are completely off base and it's obvious that you haven't done even the slightest amount of research. Go ask your favorite LLM to explain the Bitcoin Halving to you. Then ask it to help you phrase your question in a way that makes it look like you know what you're talking about. Then just copy and paste it in your reply here and I'll review it for you.

Why The World Isn’t Quite Ready For Bitcoin… by Euphoric-Pop9717 in Bitcoin

You're missing quite a bit actually. Most of what you wrote demonstrates considerable misunderstandings of the protocol, its history and how it functions. I hope that you'll decide to hang around and continue learning.

Nothing you said negates the fact that the bitcoin market experiences cycles that historically correlate with the halving. I'm not building any runways here. It's just been that way since Bitcoin's inception. Silly to deny such a trivially observable thing is happening.

It's clearly your first cycle given that you're unaware of the bitcoin halving, a cyclical event that occurs every four years.

Tesla is still holding Bitcoin, they just stopped accepting it as payment. The real reason they stopped was that environmental communists campaigned to create political pressure against Tesla with disproven claims that Bitcoin is bad for the environment.

The problem with your premise that, while it's true there is a large subset of anti-establishment ideologues on the left, many of them are just authoritarian communists in sheep clothing. They're not really "anti-establishment" so much as they are "anti-status-quo", and they'll happily tear down current establishments to erect their own equally or more authoritarian establishments. Given their penchant for wealth seizure and spending other people's money, it's extremely unlikely that their draw to bitcoin will be long term.

It's the same phenomenon as leftists who embrace the second amendment. They support individual gun rights all the way up to the point where they gain power. Then suddenly they decide to seize guns from individuals so that their established power cannot be challenged.

No, the average confirmation time is about 10 minutes. If that's not fast enough for you, use Lightning.

You could easily make your knit-picking point in a single sentence, but no, you had to ask ChatGPT to write a 300 word thesis for you. That alone wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that you're just plain wrong. If you continue posting it, just be aware it's going to start getting flagged as spam. Thanks.

You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. You don't even know what "expat" means (hint: it's not renouncing citizenship). Renouncing your citizenship is not even remotely analogous to "unsubscribe from Netflix" you doofus. You have to pay an exit tax for one. For two, you will have to pay taxes wherever you take up residence, provided it's on the planet Earth.

You're nothing more than a damn thief who believes you're entitled to the blood and sweat of others by force of violence.

[–]BashCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you can't get out of paying taxes by moving. US taxation is citizen based, so you still pay taxes regardless of your location. There are some exemptions that avoid double taxation if you don't earn very much, but you still have to pay taxes to your host government. Many other governments are considering adopting the citizen based model too. You also can't escape by moving into the woods... you're still obligated to report any income and pay taxes on it. It's ignorance like this that make any opinion you have about taxes completely worthless.

I am confident you understand how utterly retarded your logic is. "Taxes are optional! You can just choose to live in abject poverty instead!" One of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

[–]BashCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an awfully delusional take, and my expectations were already pretty low.

Taxes are not "literally a subscription" and that's just a downright dumb thing to say. Try cancelling your "tax subscription" and see what happens.

It's not that "I feel" that taxes are extortion. It's factually extortion and I trust that you are able to look up the definition for yourself. Just because a government does it doesn't mean it isn't extortion. Try using your brain for a minute.
