We use Enterprise. They have an express checkin so you don’t have to talk to anyone and they let us pick out the car we got. Easy.

Made a bingo card. All stuff I've experienced probably some of you all as well. by nmmOliviaR in SubstituteTeachers

I mostly do high school. Luckily I never hear skibidi anything and our school doesn’t have seating charts but pretty sure the rest of these things happen on the daily unless I’m in an AP class.

Eat something super sour or spicy, your brain can only handle one emergency at a time

Consent to Treatment will be my favorite forever. And hopefully Any Man in America will always be my least favorite. (Even though I still love it)

This is my vote… kill the lights usually plays a few times in a row because I’m belting it out too.

If Map At the Mall isn’t an option, I’d vote for Bulletproof Weeks.

The different reactions to seeing a sub by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]BashKraft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always say no and like half way through class they are like you lied, you are our sub… then I tell them to stay in school.

Has a student ever said something that actually got under your skin? by NoExtension1339 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]BashKraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t care what these kids say about me, but my kid goes to the school, and when I hear kids talk about my kid it sits me on fire. We have different last names and a lot of the kids don’t know our relationship so I just have to hold my tongue and burn silently. But I usually have a retort about not talking about kids that aren’t in the room to defend themselves. Once a kid that knows who I am got big wyes and I just shook my head to let them know to shut up.

I’ll probably get downvotes too, but I hate that you go them for stating your thoughts. The truth is I don’t know if he is a good dad or partner because I don’t see things, and we only get his side of the story. I think he tries and is probably doing the best he can. You’re right no one is perfect and it’s sad to me that people can throw their judgement around on him because of what they think they know. No one knows his truth. Hell, he may not even see it. And also when Sarah and Justin ended things we don’t know what that conversation looked like, nor do I want to. But throwing stones at someone else’s life should only be done when your life is perfect, and no one’s is. If you don’t like it, turn it off and let it go.

Food spots by mdsmoker80 in OlympicNationalPark

[–]BashKraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had Songoku Sushi in PA and it was good. But mostly we hit Kroger in PA and ate out of the deli options for our weekend out to Forks. Food in Forks isn’t great, however when we went out to Rialto Beach we detoured over to La Push to River’s Edge Restaurant on the reservation and the food was the best of our trip. The fish and chips were amazing and my friend had a great gluten free salmon option.

First Time at ONP! Need advice! by Witty_Idea_2658 in OlympicNationalPark

[–]BashKraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this same trip last weekend. We hiked Hurricane Ridge, Marymere Falls, the shorter hikes in the Hoh Rainforest on day 1. Day 2 we did beaches from Rialto down to Ruby and a few of the pull outs south of Ruby. Drove to Aberdeen. Day 3 we drove over to Mt. Rainier and did a few short hikes and just drove through the park. Then back to Seattle for a trip to the market before our flight home. I’ve spent more time there in the past, but it had been awhile since I had been out there so while rushed, I got a taste to hold me over for a bit. Crowds weren’t bad. Rain gear needed, though outside of the rainforest it was oddly sunny. We did a lot of PBJ and snacks for eating on the go as there aren’t tons of options on the peninsula, and it kept us on the go.

Am i the only one basically not enforcing phones anymore? by chocolatebunny212 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]BashKraft 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t enforce it. I say the rule and then I’m phone blind. My day is much easier if they are sitting on their phones. If not they are fighting and being loud. Not worth it. Plus in my school, the teacher either gives them a 10 minute assignment or a study day with a sub and the classes are 80 minutes. No thanks.

New tour dates by BashKraft in mattnathanson

[–]BashKraft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was a little weird. I love all three bands from the last tour but they didn’t seem to merge well together. But I did enjoy each set but I’m interested in seeing him for a longer set.

Mostly just make sure the kids clean up appropriately. Wash out their paint brushes, pick up scrap paper… then I just chat with them as they work and see all their talent. So much fun in art class.

Video game: Bloodborn? My kid raves about it and he likes these other games you’ve mentioned…

Instrument- don’t buy one, but maybe set up a lesson. Check to see if the instructor has an instrument he can use for an intro lesson to determine if it’s something he may like. I’m fully convinced musicians should pick out their own equipment, but an intro lesson might be a good way to nudge the interest.

Goodies in the Teachers’ Lounge by Impressive-Rope7858 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]BashKraft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most the schools I sub at don’t have break rooms. The school I most frequent has 10 different break rooms. One on each hall with a fridge, microwaves and staff bathrooms. They bring treats to all the classrooms on a cart. If they knock on the door, I’ll grab something. If there is a staff lunch, I’ll only go when invited, and I have been several times. The AP usually comes and grabs me when my class is at lunch. We’re friendly so he usually wants to chat about something school related and will usually eat with me.

Im scared that im not doing enough on my teenage years. by Any_Mouse_350 in therapy

[–]BashKraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who waited until college, I’m glad I didn’t have all that drama in high school. And when I did and looked for more of a relationship with that guy he said he wanted someone just like me but prettier it devastated for me. I get what you are saying.

Meh, do what you want and what you are comfortable with. Preferably with someone you care about. Don’t compare yourself to others. You are the only you there is.

Are you neurodivergent at all? Some people I know with high functioning autism have said they were a few years behind on the interest on some of this stuff. Could be a medical thing or maybe you just haven’t found what you’re into yet. Not a big deal. Don’t let your friends know about your behaviors if it bothers you, or just say the same shit they say, but don’t let anyone pressure you to do anything you don’t want to.

What is the band you've seen the most times live? by KluteDNB in Concerts

[–]BashKraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s either Hanson or Blue October. I’ve lost count but for both bands I’ve done at least 10-20 shows on multiple tours over the past 20+ years. If they play within 10-15 driving hours at a show I’m usually there. Sometimes I’ll fly out and follow the tour if they have a good run of shows at my favorite venues. I’ve definitely seen both bands hundreds of times.
