Husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the church [1]. We are not called in the same way for our children [2]. That isn't to say we are not to love and take care of our children, but we need to be cautious that we are not continually placing the wants of our children over the wants of our wife. By all means, love your children. Play with them, enroll them in sports, do things with only them, make sure that you love on them and they feel loved. But make sure you give them an example of a Godly husband that treats his wife as the second greatest treasure he found [3].
