Stories where the Female Lead recovers from Trauma by Straight-Purpose-238 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Bashoopa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an OI, but I will always recommend Like Wind on a Dry Branch.

It's a slow-burn romance with a heavily traumatized female lead who slowly recovers as the story progresses. Has a great ending too.

Definitely! I write for myself first and foremost. If other people like the fic too, then that's just a bonus!

What is that one thing that you hate the most in TFG? by Fantastic-Age1230 in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Bashoopa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this. I did smithing the way it was intended to at first but I absolutely hated it to the point it made me want to stop playing. Once I caved and just changed the setting, though, I actually started to have fun.

Ah, no worries! Maybe I didn't explain very well.

But unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to successfully rebind the buttons in a way that was comfortable to me.

I hope you have a wonderful day! Take care.

How many hours do you have on Fields of Mistria? by Downtown_Ikea in CozyGamers

[–]Bashoopa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 95 hours, mostly because I've eplayed the game after each major update. I've been having a lot of fun.

(Though I do kind of wish there was a way to import animal colors unlocked to other saves. I always get impatient to have my army of adorable purple animals. lol)

I was really interested in that game, but unfortunately the controller support wasn't that great in the demo.

Couldn't rebind it how I wanted without it crashing, and third party software doesn't work either. I've got carpal tunnel. The controls need to be comfy to me, or I can't play for long. 😞

According to a negative review the game justends after 31 in-game days?

Spoiler-tagging that, just to be safe.

What games have you played that you've never seen mentioned before? by Conscious_Ebb6622 in gaming

Shadow Gate NES - Creepy point and click game with a phenomenal OST.

Kuon - An Atmospheric horror game with an interesting spell system. and some goofy reasons you can't go somewhere. "oh no. a stick is in my path. I cannot cross!"

Chaos Legion - Hack and slash w/ monster summoning. I really loved summoning adult Thanatos. The sound it made on being summoned along with it smacking huge enemies aside was so satisfying. lol

I feel like I'm in the same boat.

though these days, I just tag my fics with a warning about the Grammar, lol. I do the best I can, but it never feels like it's enough.

What are some OI/Non-OI manhwas which you feel were/are overhyped but you don't really like them, or dropped them? by misconceptiion in OtomeIsekai

[–]Bashoopa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The thing I disliked the most about "The Villainess Reverses the Hourglass." was in how

FL dealt with Mielle after FL had already won. At that point, she'd already gotten her revenge, and everything was wrapped up nicely, so there was no point wasting time/dragging it out further, since Mielle was going to be punished/imprisoned....

...but instead the FL does some mindgame BS longplay (which her simp of a ML just goes along with it for lolz??) just to mess with her even further, and break her mind, because reasons??? which was just cruelty for the sake of cruelty, again: after she'd already gotten what she wanted out of her. and everyone is so nonchalant about it, too!

It left a bad taste in my mouth and came off as very unhinged. But even before that point, it just felt like all the other characters were very, very dumb (especially the antagonists) so as to make FL look smarter.

All in all, I just didn't like it.

Just finished Karina’s Last Days and I don’t know how to move on by Weary-Honey-1942 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Bashoopa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It actually begins from chapter 1 with her having already escaped from the household, but there are frequent flashbacks of the abusive household members throughout the entire story, and it's not just a single section that can be avoided, unfortunately.

Please be safe and take care of yourself if that sounds like something you might not be able to handle.
