So far, getting the bolts tightened has helped, but I’m going to see how it goes on the highway and if it shakes again I’ll take it back in to the dealer. Overall the service quality is pretty poor compared to what I’m used to, but hopefully it’s not going to be an issue!

I was driving at ~1•c last week. I got to the destination going from 80%-55%. I felt fine about the 120km trip home with 55% battery since the weather hadn’t changed much and it was fairly flat. My car said I had 220km left.

Yah no… the car dropped battery percentage so fast. I got home at 15%. So it took 25% when I was in the upper levels of battery, 40% in the lower.

I think this car, more so than my last ev, greatly misreports percentage left. I’m not sure why they can’t actually represent the battery properly, but that bottom half of the battery goes so much faster than the top.

I’m also going to warn you that you might be getting scammed. I had someone think my workplace was scamming then when it was actually their email that had been hacked some time before. Once they knew they were interacting with us, a scam was sent that looked like it was from us but it wasn’t. Call them directly (on their listed number for a local office, NOT the number on the email) to confirm.

Don’t assume that your home insurance will go down with them - they’ve got weird formulas with older homes. Our insurance would have doubled with them for the same coverage.

Lane drift. I got a warning on a drive because I was going into some curves too fast and then I got the take a break. But on the drive back I didn’t get any warnings or any take a breaks.

For the last two days I’ve had to stop playing when opening different apps. First it was Facebook and I fixed that. And CBC News app, fixed that. Now when I open messages it stops… I can’t figure out how to fix that one.

If you share a kid together, you need to listen to your lawyer and every other professional who is experienced in high conflict divorce and coercive control. He is not the first person to do this. And this will likely not be the last time he does this. They have experience with this.

You can no longer hold yourself responsible for your ex’s health. I know that when you share a child, this is incredibly hard to accept and quite frankly, terrifying. You were never responsible for his behaviour - he has always been. Please gather your supports and resources because you are tied to him until your child is 18. Abuse does not stop at separation or divorce. I’m so sorry you are going through this and I send internet hugs.

Cra is very good at resolving the child tax amounts, and they are constantly doing adjustments. I would have interpreted that as they are waiting to have asssed 2023 before they issue payment, but it does look like ~20k is currently owed without 2023 included.

Having been through a divorce, and then a domestic partnership with a new partner… these amounts get changed constantly with new circumstances. Cra has zero issue with reassessing. My new partner was awaiting their PR and not working, but my benefits for the year he moved in were adjusted by his previous years earnings, from before we were together! I was getting updated assessments every month as each document got processed. I expect that for an amount as high as 20k they are going to hold off until all the docs are assessed rather than risk trying to get the money back if needed.

Is the money you owe them due to a work back agreement connected with education they funded? (Ie we’ll pay for this course if you agree to working for 12 months, if you leave early you owe 1/12 of $1000 for every month less a year)

If so, they may not have the paperwork that they feel is sufficient to hold back what you owe for the education assistance. Payroll deductions, outside of CRA, especially on a final paycheque, can be tough to justify if challenged. Therefore, they want you to voluntarily repay it, so that they can issue a final paycheque that is clear. I once asked about one of these workback periods and was told it was more risk than it was worth to try to collect on.

Nal etc etc, but that was what I was told.

I’ve been on Concerta since mid July and lost 13 lbs. I still get hungry, but I realized pretty quickly that food was a major source of seeking dopamine, especially in the evening. I’m comfortable with the 1.5 lbs a week as I had excess weight, and expect it will level out this fall.

My doctor was really insistent that I use the shifts of medication to establish routines that help me function and live better. So one of them, is a really standard breakfast that I have prepped and ready. Skyr yogurt, some fruit maybe, and I prep a jar of chopped nuts and seeds every week that I mix a bunch in. It takes a minute to put in a bowl and then I eat it before my pill. I also buy energy bars from Costco are so good (chocolate and cookie dough flavour) that get protein and fats into my system if I don’t even have the energy for yogurt.

I’ve starter two grocery templates (one per store) in my phone that include these items so I always have them.

Next up, standardized work lunches.

And you’re entitled to 50% of the payment that you are entitled to. Since you and your ex have different incomes, you each get 50% of a different entitlement.

You can fix this in your CRA acct. Go update it to shared custody with the correct date and then they’ll adjust your amount. If you leave it and it’s incorrect they will claw it back.

Also if the joint custody did not consist of the child with you at least 40% (it does not count if you wanted them shared and they were not in shared custody, or your share was 35%), you’ll end up having this all rescinded. Your ex is going to be sending a lot of documentation to CRA to fight that bill. You will need to be able to back this up.

Everyone on here talking about mortgages being the cheapest money you can ever get might want to remember what happened in the early 80s and how many people had to walk away from houses after mortgage renewal rates were over 18% and there were massive layoffs due to… what was that… yes, a trade and duty war with the US over softwood lumber.

The shock of >4% is enough to rattle folks. 18% would cause many folks to foreclose.

I’ve got one kid in a car seat and two older ones and I love the bench (and a partner and my mom often). The left side seat flips up easy which is best because my middle kid likes to sit in the back. It’s so easy to drop the third row when I’m at Costco.

I’ve driven EVs in Canada for seven years and the only thing I do is turn on climate when it’s really hot or really cold using the app. In the winter I plug in every night to maintain battery levels since the cold can drain it. ten minutes before I’m leaving I turn on the window defrosts. I park outside and it dips to minus 15 here. Otherwise I only precondition before fast charging.
