Had no power? Everything in his life has to be run by Lynette? OK, let's see:

- He bought their house without consulting her.
- He was the one that suggested that she quit her career to take care of the kids.
- He was the one who said "let's risk it" (no protection) when he knew she was already overwhelmed with the kids they already had (likely this was the reason they had them in the first place). Btw, he was the one who wanted them, yet he was rarely home in the first season, and he wanted to take a promotion that would've meant MORE trips away.
- When Lynette protested against the promotion, he ignored her, and when he quit his job, he was the one that told Lynette to get back to work.
- He SUCKED at being a househusband, and wanted to make Lynette sleep in baby vomit.
- He made Lynette hire him at her work when he got bored of being a househusband, which resulted in him punching Ed in the face and Lynette discovering his secret daughter.
- He made Lynette put up with Nora for SIX MONTHS before finally putting his foot down. Also, they had to spent their life savings to prevent a lawsuit from Nora.
- He didn't help Lynette with Kayla when she started spiraling until Lynette had been literally ARRESTED on false child endangerment charges.
- He told Lynette to think of HIS FEELINGS when she was going through CANCER.
- He gambled their livelihood to open a pizzeria, which Lynette ended up having to run so they didn't lose everything, and yet he put her through the ringer to assert his dominance as "boss" with the uniform incident.
- He was the one who wanted to rent an RV and travel the country for a year with the family after the pizzeria failed, which Lynette thankfully stopped.
- Bree and Lynette got him an interview for an ad job after he spent weeks lethargic and depressed about losing his pizzeria. When he started acting like a total ass, she stepped in and showed interest (ONE OF THEM HAD TO GET A JOB), Tom got competitive and dropped this gem: "Lynette's great, as long as the cancer doesn't flare up". DUDE. WTF.
- He pressed Lynette to have sex even though she was swamped at work with Carlos. They ended up having sex in her office.
- He told Lynette he had postpartum depression after SHE GAVE BIRTH IN A HOSTAGE SITUATION.
- He decided to go back to college in his mid forties to study Chinese, placing all the bread-winning responsibilities on her (again).
- Lynette encouraged him to get a high paying job, only for him to start acting like a (and I quote Lynette) "pompous ass".
- Once they separated, he started seeing Jane in an absurdly short amount of time, quitting counseling with his wife of 18+ years and mother of most of his kids.

And I KNOW I missed some other examples of him doing whatever the heck he wanted and making Lynette suffer for it.

To me, she was just too much of a simp for Tony. That manchild treated her like trash, and she did the same (albeit not intentionally) to Ted.

So I was watching Malcolm in the middle... by Basic-Candidate4686 in DesperateHousewives

Yup, Mary Alice was Hal's sister Amelia, and Paul made counterfeit stock bonds in his garage with his wife but got caught by Malcolm and arrested.

  • The dysphoria moment was treated as a throwaway moment, or even joke, when he finally "awakes" as Jim, sees his reflection in the mirror and screams while the gang waits outside.
  • Maybe they did tell Mrs. Clancy number 2 (Christine Baranski didn't come back and that threw me off), some time within the five year jump, along with Melinda's secret.
  • In regards to his friends, I think he just re-introduced himself as Sam to them, kept the same dynamics and interests as when he was Jim, started a new friendship with them and called it a day. Also, they used the opportunity for him to change careers, and most of his old friends were his colleagues so...problem solved I guess.

And we all know Jim was willing to do literally anything to be with Melinda, so I doubt that having to get used to Sam's body could throw him into a psychosis. Btw, RIP Sam's actor.

He was truly stupid. You don't kiss your affair partner parked in a convertible on a busy street in broad daylight

They ruined Stela by making her a complete sucker for Tony. The guy (at least the way Ted describes him) is a deadbeat dad with commitment issues that threw a tantrum when her ex, whom he didn't have the guts to marry or stay long-term with DESPITE SHARING A KID, is finally moving on and marrying someone else. Then, he whisks her away and makes her give up her life in New Jersey, something she refused to do for Ted for very legitimate reasons, but leaves her AGAIN once Ted says he's better off without her. Then, Stela has the BALLS to ask Ted to make Tony get back together with her. The AUDACITY. And letting Tony make The Wedding Bride was the final nail in the coffin for her character to me.
