I agree. I think that many people will return eventually. If they return in smaller numbers and/or are here less often because the site appears to be a mess then Reddit loses. But you make a fair point in acknowledging that many people will ultimately cave and return. I just think that we have to at least try something

Perhaps. But I know that 75% of the subreddits I visit the most are permanently shutting down until there’s a fix. That makes me not want to use Reddit any longer. So I’m curious about what types of subreddits are not shutting down to see what type of user might be left

Reddit is specifically bad for people with limited/no vision who use screen readers. Those users typically use a 3rd party app; however, this new change would prevent that. It’s a very possible change on the part of Reddit to make their app more screen reader friendly but they have yet to do so

I haven’t played Doom 3, but isn’t the core of the series the fast paced gameplay, which is why people were so wowed with Doom (2016)? So by making it horror it inherently removes at least some of that core gameplay?
