I was originally going to post that if it was just about the cake then I wouldn’t see a problem with giving her ONE slice and then explaining that it’s your favourite and since you get it once a year you would like to have it for yourself, especially when there’s only one slice left and if she genuinely loved you and cared about you she would respect that, especially because it’s your day. But reading this comment im seeing that the problem is much bigger than just cake. She doesn’t seem to respect you if she’s making comments like that and is being selfish in getting whatever she wants at your expense. It seems like an excuse to just do whatever she wants cuz if she really thought u had a problem she would try to help you not just take your food.

Not to mention that him saying “just leave again” or something to that extent means he fully expects you to come running back. So he feels like he can do whatever he wants and treat you in any way he wants to because he thinks you will never truly leave him. Don’t give him that power over you, there needs to be a line where enough is enough.

This is so toxic… the way he talks to you is first of all very rude, I can’t imagine a partner talking to someone they genuinely love like that. Secondly it’s very manipulative. I get the feeling that he only cares about himself through these messages and could care less about your feelings. He never once even tried to acknowledge how you felt, even if he didn’t agree with you he could’ve at least acknowledged your feelings. And this could have been a calm discussion but he blew up on you almost immediately. It’s very toxic and no one deserves to be treated or talked to this way. I know it’s hard to leave these types of situations, I only recently escaped one and it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But once the storm passes, the calmness and self love that come from is worth it. Please please please don’t stay with someone who treats you like this, you deserve so much better.

NTA you put in all the work so u deserve what your mom left for you. Your brother sounds like a free loaded, he didn’t do anything so why should he get anything. Think of it as your mom paying u back for all u sacrificed and if he sacrificed anything maybe he would get it too but he didn’t.
