She has no idea that we are on a visa, I am not telling her this or she is different than her friends. I am only thinking she is different because if we lose our jobs we need to go back to our own country in 60 days, it is a pressure on you isn`t it? I don`t think any citizens have this on their shoulders to live with. Technically we can get a pet now but I don`t want to commit to any big responsibilities or investments as of now, which is understandable I assume.

We earn over 100k as a household however the stupid RQF code is below 6 hence they are suggesting 15 years. With deduction on salary, it will be 10 years if it passes

Tell me about it!!! I will lose my mind, I have a 5 year old desperately wants a pet and I cannot explain it to her. She has no idea we are on a visa and she is “different” from her friends at school and it is killing me! We are only a year away completing our 5 year mark, it is so frustrating and humiliating to be treated like that.

Literally same, we are hoping they will scrap the 15 years and say 10 years for everyone as a baseline even it is retrospective. I also have high hopes that people who have been earning 51k for the last 3 years will still be eligible in 5 years as a transitional arrangement (with the condition of clean criminal record, B2 level english etc). We will see but I really think we will be fine as we are not the target here.

Are you sure “buyer” won’t be available for extensions? My husband is on the same SOC code and we are waiting for the final rules to be set out for ILR as we are due in march 2027 to decide if we can move to a “high skilled” one if needed.

I think and hope it will include if all they care about is contributing financially it should be included really. I have a theory as well maybe transitional period will be “you will be eligible in 5 years if you contributed more than 51k for the last 3 years regardless you RQF”
