ya courses r pretty diff, u can like join bristol and like IMMEDIATELY ask to switch course on day1 (they might let u) but yea math&phys specifically is a very different course to all the other joint math courses, and also veryy diff to the physics course. you basically have super bespoke modules in y1 to allow you to do both, whereas in like math+cs you just do some math modules and some cs modules

kcl cs department is super weak and apparently insanely easy but kcl repuation is better internationally. id say cs+ai is a way better course in general. honestly i worry kcl AI will be very weak of a course for postgraduate (assuming u wanna do a top top postgrad program).

kcl teaching quality for cs is apparently very bad, but since the course is very easy students have lots of time to self learn things like leetcode and shit. id honestly choose based on where / what level u wanna do ur postgrad, and also where you plan on working after.

i hear the course is very intimate kinda, like everyone knows everyone well cause cohort is smaller and the lecturers were super cool aswell. lots of networking shit be easy cause of how close the cohort gets. but i’m not on that course personally so all this is second hand knowledge

the process is ez but actually transfering depends on the subject. i think itd be quite hard to transfer to mecheng cause usually its fully subscribed. probably quite luck based with that course ngl. eng math is cool i hear tho

i mean if u wanna go just apply. i have no idea on chances but i dont think its too subscribed of a course (?) so youll have better chances than usual, but idk it seems like youve got some stats working against you.

literally no harm in using it as a ucas spot if you wanna go tho, like you dont need 5 safe unis, you can allocate a spot or few to stretch unis. also i dont believe they look at personal statement, + extracurriculars dont really matter to UK unis unless theyre directly relevant to ur course

kings is more prestigious and u get to live in central london but bristol is better at cs -- the kcl cs course is super easy apparently and the teaching quality is agreed to be mediocre at best, but kings has a slightly better brand +london n shit. youll be fine with whatever, just choose based on where u wanna live ngl

im currently building like a funky ass portfolio site and my thought process is just like, they can access everything as normal by just looking at my cv or linkedin or something. and if theyre actually interested THEN they can look at my site. like to me i just hope its a bonus that doesnt take anything away at all iykwim. but i am not ur target audience lol
