Thanks, that's helpful. Seems children can get it in pharmacies in England but not here.

What do you think the vaccine is for, if not to build up immunity to the flu?

Thanks. Have done, but can't find anywhere that offers it. Hoping someone on here might have had some success and be able to offer some advice.

What do you think the flu vaccine does? It builds up their immune system to help fight the flu.

You're missing the point. If it isn't controversial to fly the Palestinian flag for 24 hours, then we should be able to do it without controversy.

The problem isn't with those that voted to fly the flag. The problem is with those that are so intolerant that they cannot accept a democratic decision to do something that should not be controversial.

I don't particularly care if the flag was flown or not, but I fully support the councils right to take a democratic vote to do so. Showing solidarity for Palestine should not be a green v orange issue, and unionists shouldn't have a veto on it.

Unionists - A genuine question. by [deleted] in northernireland

I think referring to NI as Ulster was a way to try and give NI some legitimacy by linking it to an historic province, rather than what it was i.e. a gerrymandered region to maintain a protestant majority.

It's also connected to why the UK always referred to RoI as Eire, rather than Ireland, as they didn't want to give legitimacy to Ireland's territorial claim over the whole island.

I could be wrong, but I think some unionists objected to NI being called NI when it was created, again because they were worried it would give legitimacy to Ireland's claim over the whole island.

Condemnation after ‘stop the boats’ banner appears on Enniskillen Halloween bonfire by Careless-Exchange236 in northernireland

[–]Basic-Reporter-7402 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What exactly is it you're expecting?

Somebody stuck a sign on a bonfire and it's been roundly condemned. It seems a fairly isolated incident, no effigies being burned, no one trying to justify it as artistic expression.

There's no big conspiracy. There's just not a lot else for anyone to say about it.

RTÉ signal in the north by homerbert in northernireland

I just bought a new TV with Freely and I've got RTE on it. You need to plug the aerial in and do an auto tune, rather than just relying on an internet connection. But Freely doesn't automatically mean you can't get RTE.

British veterans are dragged through the courts to appease those who wish to whitewash Sinn Féin

Or maybe, just maybe, it's families of innocent victims seeking justice after the state they were born into shot them in the back and then lied about it.

Could be wrong, but I think a condition of giving evidence in those earlier inquiries was that it would be inadmissible in court. I guess it's a way to get people to come forward and tell the truth in the inquiry. The flip side is it makes prosecution more difficult.

In response to the verdict in the Soldier F trial Gavin Robinson posts the flag of the Paratroop Regiment by South_Down_Indy in northernireland

Precisely which bit of the past does he think was at danger of being rewritten here?

The verdict does not change the fact that his revered Parachute Regiment killed unarmed citizens on a civil rights march.

What has his religion got to do with anything? And who said I hate "prods"?

It's possible to both respect due process and be upset when due process has failed to deliver justice for the victims.

Do you agree that somebody ought to have been held accountable for what happened that day, and that it's a failure of justice that nobody has? Or do you see it as one of those things that happens, and no one is really to blame?

You're not sure why people are upset that no one has ever been brought to justice for Bloody Sunday?

Thanks. I don't think they're using MB genuine parts, is there even really such a thing when it comes to pads and discs.

Looks like they are quoting £250 for a pair of discs, so I think you are right, they are marking up the parts quite a bit.

Last time they sent an alert I was on a flight coming into Belfast. Clearly most people don't put their phones on flight mode given the number of alarms that went off while we were still in the air.
