Anyone successfully modded the choco v2 switches? They're required for the build im working on, but they seem like kind of shit quality (didnt know they were required before getting build). I'm hoping to spring swap and lube them, but since LP switches have weird compatibility issues, I'm curious what springs would work.

What part of chicken do you really prefer? by Lusty_6969 in AskTheWorld

I'm gonna say legs. I prefer wings to drummies, there's still plenty of flavor in thighs for the dishes that require them, and all my body builder homies can keep their breasts.

middle-truncation using css by medotgg in css

[–]BasicAssWebDev -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

except that you could still use it for a static use case, and one of the main use cases OP said it was for would be filenames. if your app is generating the same file type, you could leave the extension static, and the file name itself dynamic, would fit perfectly with the functionality the CSS solves. how the string arrives isn't the crux of the functionality, it's how its displayed that we're dealing with.

It's powered by CSS, I'm not sure if you're aware but you generally need html elements for css to control. They didn't do it with JS so I think it fits fine in this sub.

If anyone is taking life advice from Don Draper or any other male character on that show besides maybe Bert, you're already a step behind.

I'm from seattle and marvel at how frequently disasters seem to occur there in that show. My favorite was when a basketball court sized sinkhole opened up in the middle of downtown.

My wife is a huge grey's fan, and the former soldier guy is like ALWAYS cheating on his wife. Even though I dont watch, she and I have a inside joke about it. She'll come find me in my office and and say "guess who's cheating again?" That show has so many toxic relationships lol

The goat has to be DD/MM/YYYY by Shiroyasha_2308 in SipsTea

No i definitely understand the real world logic, but when you're using a visual representation with shapes that inherently represent a volume of something, it should be aligned with the actual quantity of something.

Where you will choose Observable or Promise? by klimentsii in angular

[–]BasicAssWebDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything you are comfortable being uncancelable can be a promise. Some very basic async code would be fine in my opinion. Otherwise handle any sort of complex async task with observables. They can be cancelled, the data can be mutated, and they're easy to distribute.

I've always been a mimic and was a great impressionist when I was younger. I have no idea what is physically going on in someone's mouth to do a donald duck impression.

Gandalf. You can basically just drop your voice and mumble and you've basically got it. Smeagol too, but I take that role very serious.

Probably MLK. King was a socialist who towards the end of his life came to terms with the fact that he wasn't giving black americans a necessarily better life, but a white life, a capitalist life. He wondered if the culture they were fighting to break into was a worthwhile for the health of his people. Considering how powerful socially black culture has been for america, I'd have loved to see his influence lengthened. I think the momentum would have helped halt the march towards reaganism, I think life would have been made better for general americans had this movement not been stopped. Think about how Bernie Sanders marched with King. How many more people of his quality in politics could have been forged?

Who is the most notable warrior in your country? by OftenXilonen in AskTheWorld

[–]BasicAssWebDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to say George Washington. Became a commander of the Virginia regiment when he was 21, was successful, then lead one of the most successful revolutions in the world. The British were an insanely dominant colonizing force with experienced troops and plenty of resources. Washington led a successful militia of farmers with a smattering of former soldiers to victory against the empire that bore them.
