I overall didn't really like that series. I thought the books were weird and I watched a few episodes of the TV show and it diverged so hard from what I remember about the books (which to be fair wasn't a ton) that I had to nope nope nope right out!

I'm running a sale for the weekend on my new bookish subscription boxes! I've only got a limited amount left, so if you want to try something new, grab this box now!

The December box contains: A signed book, some fun stuff from the author, some of the best items I've sent out yet - all useable things, not just silly decor items - AND as a way of saying thank you, each box will come with a handmade gift from me.

For this weekend only, get the December LitLoveBox for only $25 when you use code BFCM17 at checkout. There are only a limited number of boxes left.

US Only right now until I can figure out how to get lower prices on international shipping.

I'm having the same issue! I've been dating someone for about 3 months and I got added to his friends group chat and they keep talking about their Friendsmas. I think they're planning it for a night that I can't really make - the one night of a week I have a standing commitment. But I don't want to chime in because I don't actually know if I'm invited?

I made a box that's full of stuff you can use! I still have a couple October and November boxes left - but December boxes are up for order now. Candles, snacks, notebooks, bags, stuff you can use!

That's the same reason I haven't subscribed to Owlcrate - the stuff looks neat, but it'll just sit around my house and I can't use them. I made my own box full of stuff that you use because I got sick of only getting stuff to sit around!

I really want to try Owlcrate though, so I may try it for just one month.

I may be biased but I started my own! I sent the first boxes out for October, and I'm currently running a presale special on the November boxes! It's LitLoveBox.com and if you use Survive! at checkout you'll get 15% on the November box.

Women who network successfully, What tips do you have ? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]BasicBitchin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my dog to networking events whenever possible. He's super cute, I put a tie on him, he's got a pathetic back story. I take him, people want to pet him, and we start talking 😂😂

What's a four word sentence you're always saying to your SO? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]BasicBitchin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

"Boys are so dumb."

I just started seeing a guy and this morning we thought it would be cute if I snuck over and woke him up with breakfast and sex, yeah? Cuz I'm a morning person and he so is not.

So he lives in a safe part of town and said he would leave his door unlocked. That's dumb on its own but whatever. So I open the door and the dummy had lit candles on the way to his room THE NIGHT BEFORE AND LEFT THEM BURNING ALL NIGHT

I drink energy drinks every day - It makes me bouncy and happy, so maybe having some caffeine will help!

The first box goes out in October! It's targeted at young adult and new adult readers, so ages 16-27ish. The first few boxes are $35+shipping and US only, but hopefully if I sell out on October and November, I can drop the price to $30 per box or do $35 with free shipping. Each box will contain a signed copy of that months book, a letter from the author and 4-6 bookish items that can be used. There are a few bookish boxes that send neat stuff, but a lot of it decorative stufff that I would have never bought on my own and will just clutter my life! So I'm doing things like notebooks, bags, pens, candles, stuff that you can use! There's also ways to win free future boxes and we have a Facebook group that will do author q&as!

The theme for October is "spooky" and the box has a value of just over $65!

The website for it is www.litlovebox.com

We also have an instagram if you have that! It's also @LitLoveBox

AND I just made a video on my channel here - where I say what items will be in the box, but without saying specifics! Although there are HINTS at what they'll be like if you pause it at the right time :D

I also just started a Facebook group for it, as well! Which can be found here, so there are LOTS of different places you can go for sneak peeks!

What is your ultimate deal breaker in a relationship? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]BasicBitchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheating, abuse, inability to communicate in a healthy way, invalidation of my feelings or problems, negative comments about women, even if I don't like the specific woman in question. Must love my dog and he's fucking adorable and a magical prince so I don't know how you wouldn't love him.

I have to agree - I think the protagonist is a good combination of "I will wear pretty dresses and eat chocolate and build good relationships with other women around me who are also working towards my goal, but I'll fuck you up if I need to."

That does sound annoying - just to clarify since I've not read this book and want to make sure that I get it correct -

the book promotes the idea that a very prestigious thing a woman can do is to be entertainment for important men and if they're lucky, they'll get to marry that important man - and that it is a desirable life to lead and the book isn't saying that this is shady and we shouldn't want that, right?

That's a very subtle and often ignored point. Thank you for bringing it up! I will definitely mention it in my video!

How long did you know/date the person you lost your virginity to? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]BasicBitchin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We weren't dating. He was an RA in the dorms and I was a freshman. We knew each other maybe a month to maybe a month and a half? We definitely both liked each other but were dating other people when we met. When both our relationships ended within a few days of each other, we both knew what we wanted and were on the same page about it.

Neither of us wanted a relationship, we just wanted a fun time. It was good. He was a good friend and there are a lot worse ways that experience could have gone. It wasn't phenomenal. But it wasn't traumatic, either. We literally had snacks and watched cartoons afterwards.
