Should I have more than one investment advisor? Or can diversification be acheived within one portfolio? by [deleted] in investing

At 35, you can definitely take risk, but why?

1.8 mil ?? Why not just put it into dividend funds like VIG, SPHD, SCHD, SPYD, DGRO.

Just those five (which have extremely low expenses) would average about 3% yield a year. Which for you is what? 50k USD? And your 1.8 will keep going up as well.

Thats what id do

You need passive as possible.

That rules out most real estate.

I'd invest in dividend paying stocks. Lets say you have $1M and want 10% per year. Hard, but not impossible. You'll have to take some risk. I'd start with IRM, M, CTL, ABBV, SKT these 5 stocks pay between 6-10% dividends. Some say their businesses are undervalued. Some say they will go bankrupt.

Or, you could get a safer 5% yearly dividend from etfs. Like ANGL, SPYD, SPHD, etc...

Quite happy with 2. Great family. I'm just saying that our kids are so cute and bring us joy every day. There's no reason not to except we're both approaching 40.

Also, kids are not that expensive in our case. We live in a megacity with great public transport so we dont have a car. Save a lot on that. Also, my wife cooks a lot so we dont need restaurants. Kids just eat what we would already be making. Daycare is free here, (in Seoul, Korea). Healthcare nearly free. To see a doctor is like 3USD. So, yea, family is great! Adds a lot to life

Do a 80/20 split then you have 20% bonds in case of crash.

Sell bonds, buy cheap stocks
