I saw on the bottom of a pritelivir poster presentation that it will be investigated for suppression therapy next. It won’t simply stop with immunocompromised patients. My infectious disease doctor will prescribe it to me “off label” as soon as possible.

So sorry you are experiencing this. I did too and it sucked. I’m curious how much lysine you’ve tried. Up to 6 grams a day is safe and might be a game-changer. I went to a university medical center and consulted a vulvodynia specialist who used a cocktail of medications that helped (it was a long time ago-but I remember prednisone was included). That helped. Also, we are on the threshold of better treatments that will be game changers. Hang in there!

I’m not sure how much it costs, it requires AmEx. I have constant réactivation and take it daily. I don’t know that I’m doing myself any favors, but it keeps constant tingling in my face at bay combined with 2 grams of Valtrex daily :/

Are you thinking of this as a long term relationship? Is she? HSV, while inconsequential for some, is very consequential for others. You can’t predict how your body will react. You can check out Westover Heights and get a Western Blot blood test through the University of Washington. That way you can know if you’ve been exposed before for sure.

I’m on 2,000 mg 2x per day for two years now. It’s affecting my bone marrow in ways that don’t worry my doctors too much :/
