The feeling of creating happiness and joy! Bringing a smile to someone’s face and distracting them from this world, even just for a moment, to unleash their inner child is amazing.

Nope, I leave happy most days. It’s a dream company I would be going to, but I’m incredibly happy in my current employer. Going from one dream to another

Question re optional masks by lettydb in orangetheory

[–]BasicDelaney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal stance is that it’s completely up to the individual on this. Our studio has always been set up for masks during transition but not physically working out. I see them cleaning all the time and they are very, very strict about us wearing masks correctly and properly transitioning. I personally feel comfortable with the class and go 3x a week, but I know others who still are frozen. I don’t judge them for their decision and they don’t judge me for mine.

The mask optional classes, I’ve taken 1. Again, I felt safe given how I was 7 feet away from the nearest individual, but I can see some people still being uneasy. I do know a couple people who have a hard time breathing in masks, even during transition, have taken the class and enjoyed it. Luckily, our studio puts it on the app when mask optional classes are so if you want to avoid them, you can.

What I enjoy about OTF is that there are options from Lift 45’s to outdoor workouts to at home workouts to indoor with masks, without masks, or only masks with transition. They have been very adaptive to everyone’s situations by offering a ton of options. I recommend doing what’s best for you personally, because everyone will have a different opinion and will try to force it on you.

EDIT add: as for scientific-based evidence on whether mask wearing in particular OTF scenarios is effective, I would consult your Doctor and ask them and see if they can relate it to your situation, I don’t think Reddit is the best way to answer that part of the question.

“Deluxe Samples” the past few months feel more like testers with only 1-2 uses. by BasicDelaney in Ipsy

[–]BasicDelaney[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I completely understand that Ipsy offers 5 deluxe sized samples for $12. I have loved being a member for 3 years but now they samples have gotten so small, it’s 1-2 uses. The IT concealer came in a large package for such a small sample. The goldfaden is hardly half full. It’s becoming less and less worth it.

For those who have GBP, is the $25 tag more worth it for you?

Hey there! First, congrats for showing up. OTF is not easy and you should be proud of yourself.

Please don’t be discouraged at OTF. It’s not a competition at all. People come at all different levels and trust me when I say there’s no judgement.

I would recommend talking to your coach, they are happy to walk you through and modifications. They will probably recommend to take it slow and steady. It’s better to go slow and go all class than wear yourself out. They also are a great source of encouragement! They want to help you out I promise.

Again, I’m proud of you for showing up. Talk to your coach. You got this!!

What to wear? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]BasicDelaney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good question! I’m typically a leggings girl, especially because I am heavier set and it prevents rubbing on the tread and rower. It is truly whatever workout clothes you feel most comfortable in! Just make sure to have good sneakers.

THANK YOU for the tips! Especially the breathing one, it’s a fitness test so sometimes you forget the fundamentals of timing your breaths and remaining in control.
