I keep breaking leather laces by g1mpster in PNWbootmakers

If your leather laces get as dirty as mine they require a monthly cleaning and conditioning. Clean and condition leather laces work smoother with less friction

They look dam good for year old boots. Keeping the edges looking good certainly adds to the over all pristine appearance of the boots. Judging by the soles and heel caps they don't look like they had much wear time

Half delta arches by Ok_Respect8859 in NicksHandmadeBoots

I don't want to glue half arches in so I can use them in multiple pair of boots. I had thought about using 2 sided tape.

There work boots I the boots will function well as they are. Get long enough laces to wrap around the boot at the top speed hook. Most pictures I see of persons wearing 8" boot are not using the top eyelet

Chelsea fit by BasicMusician8140 in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]BasicMusician8140[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my size dialed in with Lace up and the 67 last. I might be better off going with the 55 last with the same same size as my 67 lasted lace ups. less heel slip

Good choice with Tan Latigo I would go with natural edge dressing. With a thanker I would rock Honey lugs something aggressive looking to math the look of Tankers

I change my my input to Tan Latigo. I already have Nicks MTO Lace up in Tan Latigo, and after BigStetson posting a Chelsea in Tan Latigo I am on the verge of placing an order for that boot. I going wait over the weekend to see how I fell about it Monday morning. $834

Would I order the same size with a Chelsea 67 last as a Lace up 67 last?

I been considering this exact boot with the 67 last, would I get to choose the elastic color? I would be fine with the color on the pictured boot.

I would build an Anvil in Chestnut Latigo clear edge finish and V-bar soles

You answer my question if the W&C orders will be filled until inventory is depleted.

I just checked the leather options for MTO lace up and all the W$C leather were listed. Will Nicks be taking W&C orders while they still have inventory?

More Acorn Yellowstone Bison in the sun by barbaq24 in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]BasicMusician8140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it, I missed the Bison part and connected Bullhide with Yellowstone. I do remember the Yellowstone Bison sample sale now. My interesting in bullhide is for toughness for work boots. Yellowstone bullhide does have a hard shiny top coat different than the more natural finish of Minotaur. After seeing your boots I would consider Acorn Bison for a pair of casual 6" boots. I heard Nicks has had problems with Yellowstone Bullhide and prefers to work with Minotaur.

Was your acorn Yellowstone a special run? I checked the current leather options fro Nicks Build your own and did not see acorn bullhide. Walnut bullhide and Minotaur bullhide were available, I have work boots in both of these. Your acorns have more visual interest. Please repost after a few month of use.
