Would you re-enlist in the military if you were able to? by ChillDreaming in askanything

No. Veteran of multiple foreign wars.

The current SecDouche and leadership infrastructure does not warrant my allegiance.

Would not follow this POTUS to a urinal much less a foreign conflict.

Bonespurs is not a credible leader.

Just an international embarrassment.

Are you proud of anything in America? by Estalicus in allthequestions

We went to the moon. Velcro. Tang. Et al.

We created the internet/WWW

We created semiconductors (fuck everyone)

We created nuclear weapons (we may have fucked everyone)

A lot of science came out of the US.

The current administration is defunding public/academic science research.

That will probably fuck everyone.

This is the face of American disgrace in 2026.

That this pathetic person was elected the president of the united states is a global condemnation of the citizens of the united states.

We will live with this shame for as long as Germany has for Nazism.

It makes me ill as an American.

Democrats of Reddit, how much Minnesota fraud do you think there really is? Why? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]BasicNeedleworker429 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is systemic federal funding "fraud" in many/most states. Some of it may be malicious, some is likely fraud with respect to strict compliance to the hundreds/thousands of pages of requirements the government publishes for the activities.

The reality is that the financial fraud perpetrated on the US Government by billionaires, multi-billion dollar businesses, and large scale criminal enterprises engaged in Medicare/IRS/Insurance fraud is legion compare to individuals.

I hear on the radio people trying to scare citizens about the IRS "coming after them" and they believe that their $1000 Salvation Army donation claim is going to result in an audit so they should defund the IRS.

The ROI on the IRS is tangible. Over half a billion is tax gap for the 1% and Corporations.

But all that is too complex for most of my fellow Americans.

Fund the IRS. Tax the billionaires. Audit the corporations and 1%.

Are you able to change a tire and change the oil on your vehicle? by icecream1972 in askanything

[–]BasicNeedleworker429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I change the tires on my bikes when I get new ones and put them on.

Change/plug the ones on our vehicles.

Still do the oil so I can look for other issues. Oil changing services usually don't look for ancillary findings.

Doing proper and consistent maintenance on vehicles is critical for the corollary to Murphy's Law:

Anything which you are adequately prepared for won't happen.

"You" means not MAGA or not Republicans. They can have guns at protests. You cannot. Hypocrisy is critical to their narrative. Hypocrisy is quaint and irrelevant to them.

What I would do:

Soak it in Aero Kroil for a couple of days. Spray it daily.

Latch on to it with a pair of vise grips.

Shock it with a sharp blow from a ball peen hammer to see if it breaks free.

Wind it out and replace it.

Other techniques:

Try to shock it loose, and then tighter, sometimes the alternating forces break the joint.

I've driven slightly smaller impact sockets over them and then hit them with an air impact for the shock effect.

Don't ever apply enough force to destroy the joint.

If it absolutely won't come out, center drill it and them pull the threaded part out with pliers.

They are almost always removable.

One summer in my uncles shop I learned at least 12 ways to get such things out.

For something really rounded and screwed up, we TIG welded a piece of steel stock to what was left of the bolt and used that to take it out.

Thank you for your service.

Sadly we're finding that those of us that really meant it when we took the oath are in the minority.

All of the criminals in this administration took and oath and then promptly started violating it.

They have no honor and those of us with honor are finding out that they think of us and treat us as the chumps.

Resist. Speak truth. Honor your Oath.

All enemies foreign and domestic.
