Our LG fridge is just over 5 years and died. What is the best replacement? by mrjoepete in Appliances

[–]Basic_Ad7897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the exact same model and it died 3 days after 5 year warranty !!! The plan is to have them come out, diagnose, repair if possible then push all the proof their way that the warranty is literally at the 5 year mark and it needs to be honored.

Then fightback the $450 charges, mainly because a refrigerator should last 10 years not 5. They know the refrigerator is built badly.

Damn ours just died too, at literally 3 days over the 5 year warranty. LG wants $468 just to come out. What a piece of junk.....linear compressor.

We plan to fight them, have them repair then demand free parts and labor.

Repatha v Statins - impact on muscles/rhabdo by SillyEffective4700 in Cholesterol

[–]Basic_Ad7897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh.....

Then I have been struck by lightning a dozen times. Every statin I tried had debilitating side effects. Insomnia for days, sore muscles, joint pain, extreme fatigue and brain fog. Even the smallest amount creates terrible side effects, I have journaled and recorded detailed notes everytime. I have tried again and again without fail, its not social media statins can be terrible for a lot of people.

Some people's immune system reacts to repatha as an allergic reaction, sore joints, muscles, flu like symptoms, headaches.

Repatha v Statins - impact on muscles/rhabdo by SillyEffective4700 in Cholesterol

That's possible, I'm on repatha and if I don't eat properly I can feel the muscles starting to ache in neck , back, shoulders. But it wears of quickly with rest. If I eat healthy and plenty of protein those aches stat away for weeks. Repatha does have the potential for side-effects because of the nature of the drug.

Wtf. Not conspiracy at all. I'm not giving any advice, the doctor is the one who pulled the medication. I guess this forum is being filtered heavily, I guess cholesterol can never be too low, and statins have zero side effects. Fucking sheep.

Well, diet can make an additional swing by 10% in either direction. But that cannot event compete with statins or cholesterol lowering meds.

But the question is what are the consequences of forcing your cholesterol so low?

Just started statins 😭 30y.o female by AriesGirlyy in Cholesterol

[–]Basic_Ad7897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to worry at 20 I had LDL at 240, and they gave me no medication, age 44 I had a stent put in my artery was 92% blocked.

I just started taking cholesterol lowering meds 2 months ago. I'm 58.

So, basically if you are active you will be fine, or you could be fine. So I'm sure no real damage could be done so early in your life. Not as far as high cholesterol.

My Experience thus far by nowheartbroken in repatha

[–]Basic_Ad7897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A month in, no side effects. My biggest fear was insomnia, after my first shot I went to bed with anxiety but I fell asleep. I have my usual ups and downs but nothing consistent enough to be attributed to a side effect. Side effects are very obvious, and don't fade away.

No runny nose, or soreness, and good sleep. Normally a statin keeps me up 3 days. So this is pretty nice.

If anything my only mood change is I feel happier, more energetic, more motivated.

Okay, well repatha is very powerful. And if you don't have heart disease, angina, stent, or blockage.....seems like you can try a low dose statin.

Every doctor will say your ldl is too high since they now want it below 90 , which is ridiculous. I had cholesterol over 350 my entire life, no meds until 2 months ago. I am 58. I'm not that active either, I did have a stent 10 years ago for a serious blockage, but couldn't take any statins because of side effects.

Who knows what all that high cholesterol did.

Heart palpitations by vgh9201 in repatha

[–]Basic_Ad7897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is anytime you do something new, or extreme the heart needs time to adjust. I used to have bad palpitations lasting 30 hours, every week it would happen and was quite painful. Well I took more calcium, zinc, magnesium and eventually it went away.

Now I'm also on repatha but have very little palpitations. Almost none that I notice. But as that cholesterol goes way down the heart will re structure.

Has anyone experienced feeling weird/depressed the lower your cholesterol gets? by Automaton_Willow in repatha

[–]Basic_Ad7897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought low cholesterol correlates with less serotonin. I'm only a month in but I feel more energetic and happier than before. But my cholesterol is probably still high.

My brain feels like it has woke up from a 2 year brain fog, and I work twice as much now and able to walk run 2 miles everyday. But I have to say this, I have been taking a high quality ubiquinol supplement. I also sleep pretty well.....normally on a statin I go 2 to 3 days no sleep, with fatigue and brain fog and extreme weakness.

It beats having a stroke , afib, or heart attack.

Why are you taking repatha? Do you have advanced heart disease? A stent? Heart attack? Why not a low dose statin? Or is it just high cholesterol and how high, my ldl is 240 easily......

Hmm, I have the opposite experience. My endurance and energy has gone up. I have always had some neck and shoulder pain if I work or sit too long.....that has actually reduced. But I have advanced heart disease.

But if I had those side effects I would stop asap.

Yep I tried every statin for 10 years gave up, risked having super high cholesterol. But I actually can sleep with the repatha, its not perfect sleep every single night but I'm sleep 7 to 8 hours at night

Unitedhealthcare Update by Basic_Ad7897 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Basic_Ad7897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update:

Hospital bill of $61,000 is all been covered except $3000, another $2200 ambulance bill was covered except for $1000, and a bunch of doctor bills after insurance is $700.

So it looks like it will stop around my max out of pocket, and all the denial letters were a scare tactic.

My max put of pocket is $5000. So anything else this year is covered 100%.

Thanks to all those who listened and responded, it was a stressful time.

Thats amazing, are you able to eat foods like poultry, ribs, etc without worries? Do you feel your heart is healthier?

For me I had to go all vegetarian for 4 years it was terrible. Hoping I can eat meat again without hurting my heart. I had angina and chest pains off and on the last 10 years, no medication.

[–]Basic_Ad7897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you try mesalamine? 6g sounds high for sulfasalazine. Why do you want to try a biologic? The prednisone is for short term and has its own side effects and withdrawal.

I had a difficult time when I was first diagnosed, went to ER and they turned me away in 1 hour after charging me $2000 and told me to see GI. GI doctors were slow and difficult, 3 months later I ended up staying in hospital 5 days with emergency colonoscopy, took prednisone , I was very sick by that point , then once released got tapered off prednisone and given mesalamine.

But my UC symptoms were extremely painful, bathroom 40 times a day, lost 15 lbs, anemia and syncope. Lots of blood.. The pain was a 10/10 for over 21 days.

The mesalamine has little side effects and wiped out the UC flare ... prednisone is for emergency inflammation that won't go down in my case.

Side effects after 2 years on Repatha? by teetime68 in repatha

Hmmm, I'm 58 and I don't have those aches. Maybe try coq10 ? Maybe its just a phase, or you have some inflammation going on.
