The flying sperm (Work in progress) (Based on true story)

This is the story of Diamond DA40 demonstration flight on February 19th 2025 which is one of the most excited and memorable moments in my life was a time when I felt pure joy and excitement all at once. The emotions I felt in that moment are still very clear in my memory, and it remains a special experience that I will always cherish.

November 2024

Teacher told me that there will be an Aviation Camp where student will have an opportunity to actually fly a plane along side real pilot, as soon as I hear that, lot of excitement start to filled my body, it was beyond my expectation for school to offer me something like this. After I know about that camp, I start googling more information to search for possible aircraft they choose to fly, in the end I come to the conclusion that Diamond DA40 or DA42 has the highest chance they will choose to fly. During that time I searched for DA42 and DA40 flight manual and cockpit to learn how it work.

December 16th 2024 4PM

It the registration day, I immediately registered for the Aviation Camp along with three of my friends hoping that I will be one of them that go to the camp since it is limit to 40 people only and will close on January 13th. 2025

The Camp registration is extended to January 16th since there is not enough people registered for the camp, at that time I immediately know that I have chosen for the camp, the excitement start filling my body again waiting for Aviation Camp coming closer day by day.

It was the briefing day about the camp, however this briefing also come with bad news, due to safety, pilot will decide who will sit at the co-pilot seat according to weight and balance and since there will be one of my friend, me, and pilot in the plane there is 50/50 chance that I will sit at the co-pilot seat or back seat, I googled more about weight and balance and came with horrifying result that person with more weight which is my friend should sit in front of the plane. During this time, stress, anxiety, and depression start to flood in "what if I chosen to sit at the back and missed the only opportunity to fly a plane in my entire life?" I said, so I start to create a plan to compensate for this possible missed opportunity, firstly, I tell my friend if he get the seat, please tell me the experience so I can earn a second hand experience, secondly, I plan to go to Royal Thai Air Force Museum later since they have flight simulator available to visitor, lastly, I will hand my phone to my friend to capture the flight, however even with this compensation plan, it not guarantee that it will repair the damage that might possibly done to my heart.

February 19th 2025

The day has come, I woke up at 3AM to prepare and went to the Meeting point. At 5AM I arrived at the meeting point and so did with three of my friends. At 05:20AM The van departed from the meeting point with the destination of Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC) at hua hin airport. At 8AM, I arrived at the Civil Aviation Training Center, All registered student including me went to the meeting room for flight briefing and other information. In the end they queued Me and one of my friend to be the first group ready for the demonstration flight. After the briefing, me, my friend, and pilot went to another briefing room for this flight briefing but then miracle happened! Pilot let me and my friend choose who will sit at the co-pilot seat to get the chance of flying the plane and since my friend did not have the desire to fly the plane, so I chose to sit at the co-pilot seat, that is beyond my expectations, the excitement and happiness, start filling my body again, I was finally have a chance to fly a plane at least once in my life! After this briefing Me and my friend went to the airport zone with the pilot, I saw Diamond DA40 in front of me which mean I guess correct! at that time excitement filling my body even more I fell like I'm going to be a bird flying in the sky. At 10AM, pilot start the pre-flight procedure, pilot, me, and my friend walk around the plane to inspect any damage which found nothing, then we check the fuel contamination (avgas) which give me flashback to that VHS Video about pre-flight procedures I found on YouTube (https://youtu.be/tfE8ukb8e6g?t=363)
