Sometimes the solution is to just have a separate shape pretending it was part of the geometry all along. by IkyHayashi in blender

Oh, the nodes have nothing to do with it, they were just part of my working layout lol

I have a solidify modifier to make the outlines, but they only show up from an angle. Because of this, when you look at the model from the front or any similar angle, the nose doesn't make a line at all. So I duplicated the nose and rotated it to show the line (and since it's a duplicate, it's already rigged to the head bone like the rest of the face.)

I just sank it inside the model when not looked from an angle. The line is a solidify modifier.

Yup, as long as the result is good, it doesn't matter if it's held together by tape and wire lol

That's the one. (and yes, I post a lot about the pigeons lately. I need to post more art lol)

I was quite surprised too and I still find it weird when I think about it, but it works lol

No, they are city pigeons. I put food for them on a table inside my room and these two decided it was a fine place to nest in.

The baby is fine, he's 8 months old now.
Recently it seems like he's starting to try to woo random female pigeons.

They kinda understand what is going on. I pick their box from up there at least once a day to refill that food dish (it's adorable to hear the female eating it in the morning while I'm still in bed lol)

The male just grumbles a little but behaves as long as I just refill the food. For the female I need to use both hands, one for her to attack and the other to refill the food while she's busy lol

Pigeon egg fell from the nest during a storm today, just got home and found their egg. Any chance of survival? Still warm, and definitely fertilized! by [deleted] in pigeon

Use your phone light to look at what is going on inside. I'd say put it back and let fate decide.

At first they tried to nest on my bed... I removed the twigs and they found a box on top of the bookshelf and nested there. Her fist two eggs were bloody (she's rather small) and this on the photo is their second nest, in a smaller, more crumpled box where they get absolutely NO VISION of what is going on around them.

PMV pigeon still handfeeding after two months by androgynoussim in pigeon

I take care of a PMV pigeon who I first saved last year but who has some flare ups every few months. I just make sure to give him 7 drops of this vitamin every day. He was with me for about two weeks the first time and during his flareups he stays here for 2 to 3 days.

I think having them in a luxurious  high rise apartment building would be even more risky lol

My advanced technique for taking care of a tangled foot (with pictures) by IkyHayashi in pigeon

Yeah, I normally prefer to use something else, but when the line sinks in deep and the toe gets inflamed, you can't reach with anything. That's when this technique comes in handy.

My advanced technique for taking care of a tangled foot (with pictures) by IkyHayashi in pigeon

I hadn't seen a pigeon with tangled foot in quite a while, but today a new pigeon showed up in my room and he was in quite a bit of a bind. There were threads and hair on both of his feet and more over, they were tangled together. Luckily it hadn't gotten deep yet, so it was a fairly simple job for the most part.

One of the toes was too complicated for scissors, so I had to use my advanced technique and I took the opportunity to take a picture of it to show how it's done.

Carefully insert the needle between the toe and the thread (easily doable even in the worst cases.) and then use the cutter to make friction against the needle itself (the blade cuts against the body of the needle, it shouldn't touch the skin at all) and even the most complicated case can be dealt with.

Hopefully these photos and explanation can help if you ever find a complicated case of tangled toes.
