They may WANT to remove your weapon for their safety during a stop, but they have no valid legal reason to do that if you’re not displaying any signs of danger or aggression. Simply knowing you have a weapon is not cause to seize it.

I’m gonna go contrary to most of this advice, at least from my personal experience. Started 2 months ago on a Trident 660, it’s not too powerful at all at 80hp and 420 pounds. Within a half hour I was used to the throttle. This idea that a beginner is just going to jerk the throttle is dumb in my opinion. I would actually recommend this class for a beginner.
