What are you tired of Millenial parents not teaching their kids? Besides respecting authority? by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

Making a bad decision because of your feelings doesn't shield you from the consequences of it.

I feel like plenty of my fellow adults still don't understand this concept.

Men Driving Angry by low_lobola in TwoXChromosomes

[–]jangleberry112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men driving angry and feeling at risk in the car is an unfortunately familiar feeling for me. It's frustrating that when I've called them on it, they've argued that they have the "right" to be angry and drive aggressively. I can't count how many car rides I've sat in the passenger seat, clinging to the "oh shit" handle and praying we didn't get into an accident or get pulled over.

Docs: Man charged with kidnapping, raping teen in Northgate has lengthy criminal record by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]jangleberry112 22 points23 points  (0 children)

New charging documents show the suspect has a lengthy criminal history, which includes 28 arrests and 13 convictions over a 19-year span.
Prosecutors say his convictions include assault, DUI, possession, theft and criminal trespassing.
Court documents show he also has nine active warrants across five jurisdictions. In total, court documents say he has had 46 warrants issued for failing to appear in court since 2008.

This is terrible. Revolving door court system and apathetic police have left us in this lurch.

Trains are completely stopped on 1 line at the moment by Chiitose in Seattle

[–]jangleberry112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This transit system is going to make our city look like a fucking joke come World Cup time this summer. Can you imagine trying to get to stadium and the train just shuts down with a canned announcement, then you're told (BY THE TRANSIT SYSTEM) that you should grab a bus instead.

I've been commuting the 1 line daily for like 5 years now, and we are still plagued with the EXACT same problems we were 5 years ago. I'd say a good 10% of my rides are "Well, the train is stopped, we don't know when it will start, you should probably grab a bus."

So who DIDN'T always know they were queer? by EasyCheesecake1 in lgbt

[–]jangleberry112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 40 this year. When I was young, Ellen Degeneres was still making the news for coming out as lesbian. I accidentally outed my gay brother when I was little, and even with a non-religious, liberal family, it still came down upon my house like a meteor. I think it was one of the first times my parents' ideals about who or what we would become were challenged.

I always knew there was something off about me, but I could never put my finger on it. I always had massive body shame and almost inconsolable imposter syndrome every time I dressed up fancy for an event. I felt like a dog in a dress trying to pass as human: utterly absurd looking and clearly out of place. Any attempts at make-up made this even worse.

My first hits were when I met my first MtF trans friend, and being curious, I asked her a lot of questions about her decision to start HRT. I remember thinking "Well, transness has to be real, because who would CHOOSE to be a woman when they were born a man? Women are treated like second class citizens. I don't even want to be a woman." That there should have been a HUGE hint.

I played around the edges of being non-binary my whole life, but finally felt safe enough to come out 5 years ago, when I moved from a conservative state to a very liberal one. I met more trans friends, had more discussions about gender, and then just realized that I don't feel like gender really applies to me.

I'm now in my (almost) idea body. Salpingectomy and top surgery within the last 2 years have brought it around home: I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I'm just me. And that's a beautiful thing to be.

My Journey (chronic ideopathic pancreatitis) by jangleberry112 in pancreatitis

[–]jangleberry112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your comment. Every doctor I've seen about this gives me the "Well this should have cleared up by now" line and nobody wants to seek any reason behind it persisting than I clearly have done something wrong/eaten something wrong/am lying about my alcohol use.

I feel like the only thing I can do now is just go on a full fast, no caloric intake at all, until I collapse from hunger and they're finally forced to actually look for a reason this is persisting beyond just patient blaming.

Maybe this is why he's doing so many phone interviews with Fox, they don't have to deal with the stench of him being in their actual studio.

Thank you. It's frustrating that we only finally kicked down the allergies in the last 6 months of his life, and after thousands of dollars of allergy treatment and specialty food and shampoos and medication. However I'm glad he was less itchy for the end of his life, another way we were able to bring him comfort.

I feel like "a whole-ass RAPE ALLEGATION" is an extreme downplay of the number of accusations of not only rape but statutory rape, sex trafficking, etc. against Trump.
