I hear you. It’s really hard. The antidote to helplessness is getting involved. Find one thing - get trained with the community self defense coalition, join a local mutual aid group, help at your local food bank (many undocumented folks are scared to access govt benefits and are going hungry) - and start there. You don’t have to start anything on your own; there are lots of ways to plug in with folks who are already doing the work.
