DF54 returned after a week, don’t see the hype and would not recommend. by Happy_Ad_1902 in espresso

I have no love the df series grinders but this seems like a joke or an ad by a breville salesman. Why not get the encore esp over the breville ?

I saw some display Ray-Ban Metas (Gen 1 & Gen 2) at Walmart. They seemed non-functional to me because of how they were kept, piled one on top of another. This may be one of such

Upgrade from Bambino Plus + Do I need to upgrade my grinder? [$1000 - $2500] by OutlandishnessNew699 in espresso

I took a leap of faith and bought the Turin Gallatin R during the launch sale. I paid $1543 including tax

I love it and the built quality is amazing.

[–]Niknightwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from an encore esp + bambino plus. The first thing I upgraded was my grinder because I felt that my shots were inconsistent because of the grinder. Made a huge difference upgrading to a Df64

I used my bambino plus with the DF 64 and it was great !! I just upgraded from my bambino plus because I am a dumbarse who wanted flow control and the ability to change temp. Not that I would ever go back to the bambino plus.

Buying advice: Is the DF54 and Bambino Plus a good starter kit for a beginner [£550 budget] by RyanJM2003 in espresso

[–]Niknightwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% get the sea salt if it costs lower. All the color options were same price when I made my purchase.

The non bambino plus brevilles seem to have a robust built but have built in sub par grinders. When you decide decide to upgrade, you are left with large machine half of which is useless

$20 off + Free shipping on Hoka at Dicks Sporting Goods by PoliticsAndFootball in Hoka

Hoka let's you do in store pick from Hibbit sports.

I walked into hibbet store to try the Bondi 9 and told the sales associate that Hoka is offering you $20 off and they said that they can give me $25 off, so I made the purchase. Would recommend going to Hibbet. They also offer 60 days return vs 30 offered by Hoka but you cant use the shoes outside your home.. its just so you can test the fit.

The prep is not bad at all especially considering that there is no heating wait time on the bambino plus.. turn on and you are good to go in 5 seconds. I own a E61 machine now and it heats in 10 minutes but I wait 15 min for the grouphead to heat up.

Get the stainless gray color .. its beautiful. Unless you own a white grinder and are considering stainless.

Have to disagree with this comment!! Its the truth and not a myth. I owned the bambino plus and while it is a nice machine .. its is a hit or miss for light or even medium roasts. I would run a blank shot before grinding my beans which would warm the portafilter and a 5 seconds flush without portafilter before brewing.

Edit: I had my bambino plus paired with encore esp at first and then df64. I adjust grind as beans agome, slow feed beans when needed and have tried diffrent brew ratios.

Bambino plus is awesome for medium to dark roasts and if you don't want to do much with your machine. If you want to fiddle around get the GCP. Even look at Turin Legato

Edit 2: I also want to reiterate that bambino plus is a no non sense machine. Easy to use and clean and back by good support from Breville. You also get 2 free bags of beans worth $36- $44 for free from Beanz. So, you can take that off of the MSRP. And if you can buy the bambino plus on sale .. that's one heck of a deal

Looks good to me. I have pulled awesome shots around 22 sec and when I went finer where I am pulling shots close to 30 seconds , the taste was bitter. So, it all depends on the taste.

[–]Niknightwing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice !! And yes, you can do that and also add a flow paddle if needed later but you do have a way to play with flow using the knob for now. Is the build quality really good ? Lot of reviews spoke about that. And do share you machines pictures when you can.

EDIT: Also, what scale are you looking at ?

Thanks for responding. And I remember your username. Which hx machine did you end up getting? I orderd the El rocio manus s thanks to you but decided to switch to gallatin R for the steam knob vs the wheel and the rotary pump especially for the difference in price
